This resort is beautiful. Had a wonderful time except for our mini fridge was leaking and not getting cold report it three times and still never got replaced. Tv dvd combo had a cd stuck in it didnt bother to report it considering the refrige didnt get replaced. Room was half cleaned some days. Staff at alott of the bars and restaurants were rude. We had a good time all in all and made the best of it. Still would return and recommend to others.
I just got back from a 4 day stay at The Grand Paladium. I absolutely loved this resort. I would come back just for the staff. They made my mother and I feel at home. You could tell they work really hard, very long hours, but somehow manage to still keep smiles on their faces, especially the entertainment crew (Reggae G, Talawah, Sunny, etc). The buffets and restaurants were good, the bartenders were generous making drinks and also providing entertainment. The rooms were clean and spacious. Nice balconies and water pressure. There are a host of activities to do every day throughout the massively large resort. I didn't have any problems with the size, as I enjoy walking. (Volleyball, soccer, tennis, drinking games, ping pong, bingo, water sports, etc.) The pool is probably the best one I have ever seen. We even got to do water aerobics. The hotel has multiple tour companies inside the hotel which make it really easy to book excursion trips. The beaches aren't the best or amazing, but they are still nice, and Negril is only a quick trip away. Also, no difference between the Lady Hamilton and Jamaica sides, you have full access to the entire resort regardless of where you stay and there are shuttles if you don't like/can't walk.
I stayed at the Casa Maria for a few days, wanting to be near the ocean without the craziness of too many tourists. This was the perfect place! The room was quiet and clean, and the staff of the Casa Maria were fantastic. A late night dip in the pool and drinks from the "007 Bar" topped it off.
The only tricky thing was navigating how to get there without a car. If you ask, the hotel can help you arrange a taxi from Ocho Rios to the Casa Maria (about a 40 minute drive). Their taxi driver was fantastic, and we had a great chat. He was very helpful. This is the quickest and easiest way- but not the cheapest way. There are also shared buses that run along the road between Port Maria and Ocho Rios if you prefer the significantly less expensive (somewhere around 150 Jamaican dollars) and more adventurous route. They can be picked up from downtown Ocho Rios, and also can be hailed down outside the Casa Maria hotel. You may feel like a sardine, packed into the tiny hot bus with 15 other people - cruising very quickly along the shore - but it is a fun memory!
There are also shared buses/taxis that go into Port Maria from near the hotel (about a 5 minute drive) if you want to hit up a local beach.
Overall, I was VERY satisfied with my stay and would indeed recommend it!
What an awesome hotel! The villas are beautifully done. It's ideal for a relaxing island get away. The food is great (just wish the restaurant staff were a bit more attentive). The front desk staff go the extra mile. I'll be back...with lots of books to read in the hammocks!
My stay was good, the hotel was close to everything. The staff was excellent and friendly. The only issue is the hotel needs a little remodeling. Otherwise I would stay there again and I did invite my aunt and uncle to stay there and they loved it. Thanks to all the staff.
Our stay at Rui Palace was a very pleasant experience for me and my family. The food, service, drinks, and relaxing atmosphere provided for an overall ideal vacation. The only very minor complaints were that part of bathroom area was open and did not offer privacy, and the LED lights emitted a cool white light vs. a warm glow. We were reluctant to leave. Big kudos the the mgt. and staff.

This is a great resort. The people are the friendliest and I like that it's spread out. You can walk a lot and get away from where a lot of the people are. There are several beach areas and a selection of pools. The salon is WONDERFUL! I can't say enough about the two women that helped me with my hair and makeup for a wedding I was in. They were great, and it looked better than when I got it done for my own wedding. WOW! The food is great, the place is clean, and the views are to die for. I like that it's out on the peninsula so you can see a lot. It was just my husband and I, but I will certainly be going back for a family vacation.
