    “Amazing hotel in AMAZING location!”

    The Fairmont Hotel is a stunning, large hotel that takes pride of place in a central location in the gorgeous town of Monte Carlo. In close proximity to the casino, restaurants and bars, and a short stroll to the beach, you could not ask for anything more from this fantastic destination. Our standard room was large and very spacious with views to the water (over the rooftop of the auditorium), cleaned impeccably and presented beautifully. We enjoyed a 60-minute massage at the hotel spa, and while this was an expensive indulgence, it made our stay at the Fairmont that more relaxing and enjoyable. The views from the rooftop bar and pool lounge are unbelievable and breathtaking (some great vantage points to take photos of the water and mountains of Monaco). We had cocktails by sunrise and enjoyed the chill-out tunes from the resident DJ. I would imagine this to take place only during the summer months, but I could only think that Monte Carlo would be enjoyed in its fullest glory in the warmer climate/time of year.

    Area recommendations
    The neighbourhood that the Fairmont is located in was extremely central and convenient for our time in the city. However it is a fair way down the mountain - when travelling to the city by train, you will need to travel down by taxi or bus, however this is not an expensive trip.
    Getting around
    The taxis in Monte Carlo are frequent and plentiful, and if you don't have the cash to splash on a Ferrari or Bentley for the weekend, you can always catch the bus! For only a few Euro, a Day Bus Ticket can be purchased which can be used on all lines and in every direction of the route - up and down the mountain and to the sea. Super convenient for tourists.
    Shopping
    Designer-label stores are a-plenty so be prepared (it's almost overwhelming)! No budget or discount shopping in this city! You have been warned to bring the plastic!
    Dining
    I highly recommend MAYA BAY Thai/Japanese Restaurant. Amazing food, fantastic restaurant décor, but you may need a booking for a table, especially on weekends. Worth the wait to eat later in the evening if you can get in. Not too expensive either (especially considering you're in Monte Carlo!).

    “Would definitely recommend”

    Just returned from a 3 night break at the Fairmont, Monte Carlo. Was unsure what to expect after reading a few reviews about the staff being rude etc. We neednt have worried, all the staff were more than helpful, not once did we come across anyone being rude or unhelpful. The poolside staff were exceptional. They find you a sunbed, lay the towels out for you, move the sun brollies etc. If they see you trying to move a brolly they rush over to do it for you. Swimming pool area was amazing, sea one side and the buildings and hills the other. Poolside food was lovely. We stayed in a deluxe sea view room, level 4 which i heard was best to go from level 4 up as you get the best views which was correct. If you were below level 4 your view wouldnt be as good. The rooms were spotless, lots of Miller Harris toiletries. Plenty of choice in the mini bar. The food and drink was expensive but this is Monte Carlo so we expected it. But, the food was amazing. Had room service a couple of times and the food was really good quality. The only disappointing thing was we didnt have breakfast included in our hotel price which was strange as we paid extra to have deluxe sea view room. The breakfasts were expensive - up to 38 euros per person. We had breakfast in the upstairs restaurant, a lovely experience, they cook omelettes and eggs in front of you and it was all very fresh. Overall, i would thoroughly recommend the hotel and we will definitely be going back there.

    Area recommendations
    The location was excellent, only a 2 minute walk to casino square etc. Went to Mayabay restaurant for dinner, well worth a visit if you like thai/japanese. Its only a 5 minute taxi ride away from the hotel. Book in advance though, its extremely popular. Was disappointed with Stars & Bars American Diner. Very dirty, processed food etc. Certainly not worth the money and you wouldnt think you are in an upmarket place like Monte Carlo.

    “Hope I can go again next year”

    Beautiful hotel. Like being on an ocean liner but more comfortable I suspect. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were kept very clean, with daily change of bedding and towels. Breakfasts served on the "deck" were good. Dining in general was expensive. Excellent location, very close to Casino Square. No fault to be found. Have returned to this hotel about 3 times and hope to go back again.

    Area recommendations
    Would recommend Casino Square because of the atmosphere and beauty of the area. Would recommend the Palace area because of the beauty of the views and the immediate Palace facade plus quaint shops.
    Getting around
    By bus. Several routes and it only costs one euro per journey per person.

    Fontvieille for the supermarket and other shops like clothes shops that are not designer and hairdressers etc. All set out on an easy escalator driven lay out. Near to a pretty harbour. Easily reached from central Monte Carlos by bus.
    Events and shows
    In the summer months of June, July and August there are some great shows in the beautiful setting of the Sporting Club, with its movable roof and palm trees with artists such as Paul Anka, it's magic.

    “Great experience in Monte Carlo”

    Definetely top notch for the price. We had a great vacation, the stay at the hotel was FANTASTIC, the entire personell of the hotel was outstanding, they greet you every moment they see you, they treat you absolutely polite and courteous , after the second day they even knew our name and adressed to us personally which made us feel "special". Food was also great and it comes in big variety, the L'Horizon restaurant on the top of the hotel was just outstanding as well, the views, the scenery, the blue sea and skyes... is worth every penny :-) We are already planning on going back next year for alonger period. Thank you Fairmont Hotel and Monaco Good job!

    “FIVE STAR PRICE, ZERO STAR SERVICES”

    2011' JULY ODYSSEY ON EARTH, A 4-STAR HOTEL RATES OF 7 LUXURY !!!!!! WHERE TO GET A GREAT BARRAK, THE ROOM SHOULD WALK FOR ABOUT 500 METERS, 2 LIFTS FOR 1000 GUESTS ONLY!! THE WI-FI € 20.00 PER DAY, ONLY IN THE VICINITY OF THE RECEPTION! EXIST IN THE ROOMS! STAFF TO' SAY THE LEAST SATISFIED , HAS NOT SIMULATE AND MOTIVATE,THE GARAGE (MANDATORY) 46.00 € PER DAY!     “Perfect Location”

    The Hotel is very well located and the rooms are very comfortable. My husband has a bad back and the bed in our room was of a very high quality which you often don't find in hotels. The only disappointment was the cost of breakfast and room service which seemed excessive.

    “Perfect for Monaco”

    7th floor restaurant and pool were great!!! Perfect location to everything. Ideal for business traveler or vacation. Parking is 42 Euros per night - but its Monaco!

    “great hotel”

    This hotel is beside and below the main casino of the city. The Formula 1 famous race and tunnel are in front and below it. Staff is very friendly. Excelent choice
