“"Can't wait to go back"”
Loved the Hotel, welcoming and helpful staff, particularly the Concierge. The room was excellent with a balcony and a sea view and the location was also perfect for me, close to the sea and to the west side of Monaco with its beaches and marinas and away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist centre. I had a lovely run all the way along the coast along the footpath under the cliffs and into France. It was also right by the Heli-Port, great if you fancy treating yourself to the 10 minute ride to Nice Airport and there was also free limo service into town. The port and the old part of the city were also very easy to walk to and Monaco is a beautiful place to visit. The staff at all the Hotels and Restaurants were much more welcoming and willing to communicate with you compared with the surly and reluctant service I have had in Cannes.
“Gorgeous hotel with wonderful staff”
The hotel staff is extremely professional and helpful. They went beyond what was necessary on several occasions. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are comfortable. Even the food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The location was also great. Within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the harbour. I would highly recommend this hotel.
“Good hotel for Monaco”
This is a very good quality hotel at a reasonable price compared to other hotels in Monaco. It is within walking distance to cafes and restaurants and all the major sites. I would highly recommend this hotel to people wanting a decent-priced hotel in Monaco.
“Disappointed”
Upon checking in, we found out that the pool was unavailable-- we had selected this hotel because they had a pool. The lifeguard was sick and they did not know when the pool would be open. The lifeguard was there the next day, however the pool was closed for cleaning. All in all, this was very unsatisfactory for a hotel with this rating! The rooms were lovely, however the boutique style lighting was very dim. There was not even enough light in the bathroom to apply makeup. One of the three nights, the upstairs room started a party at 3 AM, moving furniture and playing loud music. The third morning, a man woke me up. He was drunk and trying to get in the room next door, where a woman was in hysterics, having a breakdown. Hotel security responded to both calls quickly. But this was very surprising in a 4 star hotel.
“Monaco Columbus Satisfies”
Columbus is a great little hotel in a quiet area of Monaco - close to the large supermarket, great restaurants and also right near to the Fontvielle port. Swimming pool is very average as it is shared with all neighbouring apartments. Buffet Breakfast was expensive and very limited selection - poor value Service was great, reception staff friendly and very attractive. Great bar for socializing and watching sports Great / Excellent limo bus transfer service around town - free of charge... Overall great experience and highly recommend.
“Nice Monaco hotel a bit outside the center”
This monaco hotel is a bit off the main area, though close to bus stops. My room has a view on the ocean, with a small balcony to site outside. Across the street, there is a beautiful rose garden and around the corner is the harbour. The room is small, but comfortable. Separate breakfast is expensive (like everything in Monaco), but good. The dinner in the hotel is great. I was there for business, and it was nice to walk to the Grimaldi (20 min). and pass along the outdoor market on my way.
“reasonable”
Quite, clean, perfect view from all windows, reasonable price.
“Comfortable but pricey - that's Monaco for you!”
Columbus is a 3* hotel. Yet even guest houses provide tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms - but not Columbus! And the cost of internet connection is ridiculous, but it is Monaco! (Surely, these days, broadband connection should be offered for free!) Having said that, everything else about the hotel Columbus is positive. It is in a great location, with the yacht harbour nestling under the Prince's palace and a shopping centre within easy walking distance where you can sit outside having croissants and coffee even in November. the bus stop is just around the corner giving access to all of Monaco, but Monaco is so small you can walk it if you want. The airport bus also uses that stop making it a very convenient means of transit. Alternatively, the heliport is a stone's throw away if that's your preference. There is a smart bistro in the hotel where you can breakfast but it's not cheap and I never used it, preferring to walk into town for meals. All in all - I had three comfortable weeks here and, what's more, I would stay at Columbus again, if I had to return to Monaco.
“Great Hotel, Great Location”
The hotel is very nice, clean, friendly with great service. The location is really good too - just a short walk into Monaco.
“Excellent concierge service”
Hotel Columbus really made our romantic city break perfect! They upgraded our room to a sea view for no extra cost and the concierge organised trips into Monte Carlo and Water Taxis when we fancied something a little different! A great place to stay!
