Lovely hotel in a quiet village. Hotel was very clean, breakfast great & you could choose any option you liked, the host would cook to your liking. Very friendly and knowledgable host who was happy to advise about the local area or help in any way. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.
My wife and I were travelling to Scotland to buy a car we chose an overnight stay at Moffat to break our journey and stayed at number 29 Well Street, what a great choice, the house although in a small side street was lovely and absolutely immaculate throughout.
Our welcome was genuine with smiles and a very welcome cup of tea and a nice cake, our room was delightful and the bed very comfy with a nice soft pillow (essential for myself), then the breakfast, a great choice with as many additions as you wanted (beans, black puddings etc.) enough quality fuel to keep you going all day!
Ron and Brad the host were so helpful, advising on restaurants and the real ale bars, they even wore a nice uniform to serve breakfast, no trainers and food stained overalls here, a visit to remember!
We stayed in the Star to meet up with some friends. It was absolutely perfect. The Hotel is very clean with bags of character. The staff were excellent, breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice for an evening meal.
Obviously the rooms were never going to be enormous due to the size of the Hotel, but the rooms have been en-suited very nicely and are very comfortable.

Having booked b&b I was phoned to ask whether we would like dinner as well. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our room (very large double room with large en suite) beautifully furnished with everything we might need. Glad we booked dinner - it was superb with canapes, pre-dinner drink and wines all included. The food was delicious and well presented and served.
We had a very comfortable night, and a great Scottish breakfast before leaving.

Wonderful stay, best Scottish cooked breakfast we have tasted. Incredibly kind and welcoming hosts. We would recommend this guest house without a moment's hesitation. Our hosts really put themselves out for us, as we were late in arriving. The room was spacious and the view stunning. What a wonderful location!
