This hotel is Swiss utopia!! We had a fantastic room with a large balcony right below the north face of the eiger. Sumptious but contemporary with a great shower. The breakfast was excellent, overflowing with cereals, fresh fruit bread, cheese, cold meat and freshly cooked eggs, bacon and sausages. The views from every aspect of the hotel were spectacular- from our room, the restaurant, the terrace and the outdoor jacuzzi. The wellness area was the perfect way to recover from the long walks in the area. 2 steam rooms, a sauna, the rest area with waterbeds but the outdoor jacuzzi was the best tonic...you will stay til your fingers wrinkle!!! I couldn't rate the hotel highly enough, everyone was o friendly and helpful. The hotel also provides tempting cakes and tea in the afternoon, free bikes and a complementary bus pass to get into the village and back. The only downside is that the last bus home is 6.45pm and its a 45minute walk if you miss it. It was my husband's birthday whilst there and he was surprised with a fab chocolate cake on the morning of his birthday. The small touches so well thought out made this hotel a wonderful stay and memorable stay. Look out for Minouche, the hotel cat.

I picked this hotel based on past reviews but realized after the fact that the last review was in 2010. It cost $16 for a taxi to get from the train station to the hotel because its all uphill. I never saw any hotel staff with the exception of when we checked in and out, and both times I used the front desk phone to summon the owner.
This hotel barely offers the basics - and if you want room service, forget it. Towels are provided after 2 days of usage, sheets are replaced after 5 days, and if you expect someone to come in and make up your room, it won't happen. If you leave it a mess, it's a mess when you come back. While the room was clean, it certainly wasn't decorated or furnished in a warm or welcoming way..
On the upside, it was clean and provided free internet in the lobby. If all you want is the bare minimum and nothing else, and price is a consideration to you, then this is your hotel.
We had the pleasure of staying one night in a family room in beautiful Wengen at the Hotel Edelweiss. It is a 6min walk downhill from the train station. The family room was perfect for our family of four with a bunk bed and a two twins side by side. Bathroom was modern and the view of the mountains fantastic. Breakfast was included and was excellent - many types of breads and eggs to make soft or hard boiled eggs, yogourt, toppings, tea, coffee, juice, cereals. We booked and would recommend dinner at the hotel with a four course set meal which was reasonable and delicious, along with a suggested wine pairing which was excellent. Having said all of that, we must add that what makes the hotel are the owners, Daniel and Susanne as well as the staff at the hotel. From beginning to end, Daniel was warm, welcoming and offered advice on the region. We would stay again in a heartbeat and wished we could have stayed longer. We were able to hike on one day and even played shinny hockey on the next morning in Wengen - beautiful with mountains in the backdrop. Our visit to Wengen and Hotel Edelweiss are among the highlights of our winter trip.

"Elegant hotel, but breakfast was a real let down !"
We came to this hotel on our honeymoon 25 years ago and noticed mixed reviews so decided to split our anniversary with 4 nights in Regina Grindlewald. The Savoy suite we were upgraded to was great and just perfect !
We found that groups like Japanese, were allocated breakfast in the elegant dining room, and we and some other couples had to eat in a kind of passage way. We felt like second rate citizens. The small fruit salad looked like it had been there for a few days and very unappetising, the small cakes looked like they were from a packet, one morning the coffee was cold. You could ask for a cooked egg which was the highlight ! but even then the poached ones were very undercooked and unless you asked for 2 you only got one !! So mainly just had bread, an egg and some preserves - not what you would expect from a Hotel of high standing ! We looked to eat our breakfast out on day 3 but could not find anywhere. This a hotel that seems to pride itself on it's food so this was very disappointing, the evening meals were priced too high for us so we ate out for them. When asked about our stay, I mentioned the breakfast at checkout they asked if we had an evening meal, rather than address our concerns - thought we should have had a discount. The staff at breakfast were not approachable to complain to, and one did not speak English and no-one asked us how it was so we kind of suffered it !! which did spoil our stay.

Highly recommend this hotel; hotel facilities, staff, room, food, service were all excellent. Great location, too - views were absolutely incredible!
I have never reviewed anything on line before this, but Hotel Eiger was so wonderful, I wanted to submit this review!
Excellent views, staff, location, facilities. We would have loved to stay longer. Perfect for Jungfrau, Shilthorn, Interlaken, as the train station is right across the street and the cable cars are a few buildings away. The breakfast buffet is very good. I would definately come back here and recommend this to friends!
