“Good Moab option”

The Moab Valley Inn is ideally located on the main street of Moab. The room was clean, staff friendly and the included breakfast pretty good. It was probably slightly over-priced when compared to other places we stayed at on our 5 week tour of the US, but I wouldn't complain if I had to stay there again. There is a supermarket, bike shop and brewery directly across the road, so the key needs for a great Moab holiday are close to hand.

Area recommendations
Arches National Park is awesome, do the Devils Garden hike all the way to Dark Angel. Canyonlands National Park, do a 4x4 drive through here and visit Dead Horse Point and where Thelma and Louise launched into the Colorado River Ride the Whole Enchilada mountain bike trail, long ride though, but if you love MTB, it's a must do. Great town for outdoor activities.
When to go
October is getting close to the end of the season, but the temperatures then are nice for hiking, biking and other outdoor pursuits.
Must see
Arches National Park Canyonlands National Park Whole Enchilada mountain bike trail Castle Valley
Dining
Good food and beer at the Moab Brewery Awesome espresso smoothies at the Peace Tree
Family-friendly activities
River rafting, 4x4 tour of Canyonlands, Hiking, Biking

“karob”

This was a great hotel across the street from an excellent microbrewery restaurant. Nice indoor/outdoor pool and large spa with weight room and exercise machines. An added bonus was the laundry facilities for guests. Good value for the dollar and the staff was very accommodating. Breakfast room was a little cramped when there was a crowd in the hotel.

Area recommendations
Main Street - easy access to restaurants, shops and the national park.

“A good choice in Moab”

This was a clean, comfortable, well kept motel. Breakfast was ample, with cereal, toast, eggs, sausage, coffee and juice. We stayed for five nights, so a waffle or fresh fruit would have been welcome for variety.

Area recommendations
We were there to tour and hike in Arches and Canyonlands. We would recommend both parks highly to anyone.
When to go
We were there Sept. 2 thru 6. We enjoyed ourselves, but could not stand to hike as much as we might have because of the heat. Go at a potentially cooler time if you can.
Dining
The Moab Diner has good basic food at the best price we found.

“Value for money & convieniently located.”

Great value hotel, fairly centrally located on the main road through Moab with restaurants nearby. Clean rooms, easy parking & great pool. Breakfast was not brilliant but with the price of the hotel we could afford to eat out. Would definitely stay again.

Area recommendations
Arches & Canyonlands National Parks are very near. Also great centre for outdoor activities such as parachuting & off roading. Great hikes of varying difficulties in both National Parks
When to go
In July & August you can get thunderstorms in the afternoon. It was also the peak of the tourist season so try & get to the parks early to miss the crowds!
Must see
Arches National Park must see is Landscape Arch. It is 0.8 miles from the carpark. It is the most delicate & could collapse at any time! Canyonlands National Park has Mesa Arch with the most amazing view. Go early to catch the low sun on the arch & you will get the best photos. An easy half mile walk. Don't forget to take water with you!
Dining
Moab Brewery has great food & its own beers & it is DIRECTLY opposite the hotel so you don't have to drive!

“Moab Vacation”

Great hotel in a place with many fun activities. We went rafting, hiked the parks and had a great place to return to and swim and relax.

“Good deal for the $$”

The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant to work with. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast offered a large variety and was clean and will presented. The only complaint I had was when we were preparing to leave the hotel, the cleaning lady was in our way. She could see we were in and out of our room but she kept coming in to clean before we checked out. I would stay there again.

Area recommendations
Arches, it was beautiful. World Wide Water Tours, their guides were great and made it fun for the children. Slot Canyon, Dead Horse Point and the pasta & pizza diner (so sorry I forgot their name but they are on a corner and part of their seating is outside).

“Not impressed”

Continental breakfast was poor. Fruit Salad was from a bucket. Could taste the preservative in it. The eggs were a powdered blend. Poor options for Dairy Free diet. Fresh fruit would be a welcomed option. When we asked for assistance mid day. The cleaning staff were of poor help. Staff were okay but not helpful. We felt like there was an opinion that we could go somewhere else. The pool is right on the parking lot and work was being done mid day on the pump house while we were trying to enjoy the poolside. Moab is a lovely community. The Moab Valley Inn, needs to put training incentives in place, to educate Staff on how to attract visitors and help them enjoy their stay.

“Cheap but as always, you get what you pay for.”

The pool and breakfast were the main reason why we decided to room here... The hotel is a one star.
