“Average but nothing special”

It was all simply ok - but I really expected a slightly better standard for the room and the food. The room service was a really poor selection and certainly not an international hotel standard. Staff were really lovely and the bed was comfortable. I would probably try to stay in another hotel next visit to minneapolis.

“Foshay - Typical W but OK”

If you've stayed at one W, you've stayed at them all, and the Foshay is no different. Staff are courteous but don't break their neck to make your stay special. The downstairs bar is okay, but prohibition upstairs was slightly disappointing with the usual over-priced but nice drinks. The decor is good for the building and the room was usual W standard. Overall good, but for the price not that worthwhile.

“amazing hotel”

Beautiful hotel a couple blocks from Target field. Wonderful hotel for the price!! Staff was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back.

“Very Trendy but not relaxing”

This hotel is great to stay at during the week, but we stayed the weekend and both Friday and Saturday the lounge is turned into a rave/dance club. The prohibition floor which was right below us was a nice quiet lounge during the day and at night, ridiculously crowded and loud. We're in our 30's, but apparently this hotel is geared to 21-25 on weekends. The restaurant was great for breakfast, the bartender was nice enough to let us have one drink at the restaurant bar which was the quietest place we could find for a drink. The pay amenities were ridiculous, they had a price tag on everything in the room and the Whatever/Whenever number needed to be called for most things. No spa, no pool, and the Acura experience is only within 5 miles...not worth it for anything. No shuttle service, only towncar, taxi, or tram. Not a bad hotel by any means, just not worth the price tag.

Area recommendations

This was a nice area to stay in with great restaurants within walking distance.

When to go

If you want a dance club atmosphere, go on Friday or Saturday. If you don't, come on Sunday :-)

“Very Satisfied”

I was very satisfied with my stay at the Foshay. The service was great, the room was clean, spacious and had modern amenities. The lobby bar was pretty busy on Saturday night (a good thing in my opinion) and there is a parking structure across the street which was not too expensive for the convenience of being so close. The location is close to restaurants, bars and not far from the Walker Art Center and Sculpture Garden. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Area recommendations

Downtown has good dining and nightlife and some local attractions are walking distance. Otherwise, everything is a short drive away.

“So Much Left to Be Desired”

Room was what you expect from a W. Was really excited to stay at the "Foshay" building. Building was great. Old building charm.. have to go to the observatory on the 30th floor. The Prohibition bar left lots to be desired like the overall stay... All can be sumed up when there were people yelling and slamming doors for over a half hour at 3am. Then in the morning, the WW forgot to call valet and relay the message to pick up my car. I will definitely travel to a W again, but probably not @ the Foshay until they figure it out...

“Good choice!”

When stuck in Minneapolis airport during a blizzard, why stay overnight at an isolated airport hotel when the stylish W hotel downtown is available? Just a couple of blocks from a light rail stop.

“Spacious Room, but .....”

Clean, spacious room. Art deco decor included black walls (interesting) but not a warm feeing. Didn't like the pink lighting in the dark lobby. My husband and I in one room, my sister and her husband in second room - we both had no toilet paper and had to ask for it. So I think it must be their policy not to leave you an extra when the roll is running low.....!! Except for that, the stay was enjoyable.

Area recommendations

If you want to visit the Mall of America from downtown Minneapolis, be sure to take the rail (for $1.75 to $2.25 per person, depending on the time of day) instead of a taxi which could run as high as $40.
