“needs new beds”
Everything was great with this stay except the bed. It was like sleeping on the floor. We did not get a good night sleep the two nights we stayed. Location and staff were great!!
“Great room and service”
We had a great stay over Thanksgiving. Took the light rail from the airport downtown to the Nicollet Mall station and it is a two block walk. The young women the front desk was excellent. Went. out of the way to be helpful.
“Great stay”
Older hotel but kept nice. Room good and bed very comfortable. location really good for seeing downtown.
“Great Location and Great Service Will Go Back!”
Room could have been a little cleaner, but house keeping wants to clean for you so make sure you put out the "do not disturb" sign if you don't want them coming in. Overall the stay was fantastic and the location and service could not have been better. Room service from Firelake was amazing and the food was so good! I will be back and I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice stay.
“Great downtown location”
This was a great hotel for the convenience of walking around downtown to bars, dining and shopping. We'd definitely stay there based on location. The only downside was the "sleep number bed" which was broken on one side, which meant while my husband slept on a pillow, I slept on what felt like a cement block. We mentioned it to the front desk and they said that they were phasing them out. Hopefully sooner than later.
“Great Value”
Hotel was clean and comfortable and priced very good for its location in downtown Minneapolis.
“Good, not great, if you're running out of options”
Overall, there is little to complain about, and little to boast about. There are something we missed greatly: a mini refrigerator to store our own food and beverages, a continental breakfast, etc. The cleaning staff was a bit of a problem. They came to clean very early in the day - earlier than they should - and also forgot to clean our room one day. The walls are kind of thin, and it seems like the hotel is trying to save money certain ways (like only changing the sheets every other day). Some of these are really only small complaints, so unless you're very serious about these things, you may not want to let them bother you. It's in a great location downtown, close to shopping and restaurants, and for a good price. If you're looking to attend events at the Convention Center, you may wish to look elsewhere first. It's about eight blocks away. It's not a bad walk (if there aren't reasonable alternatives), but its worth considering.
“5 star service”
The accommodations weren't quite at the level I expected, but they were close. Where the Plaza really shines though is service--at every point where our random weekend threw a curveball at us, the hotel staff went beyond expectation to make our stay excellent. Best service I've ever had.
“Excellent service and cleanliness”
Very good amenities in the room and the hotel. I was able to work comfortably in my room and then relax.. Comfortable bed, good lighting and clean bathroom/shower. Restaurant staff was very nice, and food was better than what I have come to expect. I did rate down the neighborhood to some extent. This has nothing to do with the hotel, and I never felt "unsafe" or threatened. That being said, like any other city, you have your share of pan handlers; some more aggressive than others. Excellent location in the downtown area. I would stay here again.
“very nice”
great location even for biking around the city very close to everything
