The hotel was fine. It’s not new or posh but for 65£ it’s good value for money. I had to go to the airport at 5am so it was fine to sleep 5 hours but is not a world class hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is the location - easily and safely reachable from Stazione Centrale even late in the night, and also close to the metro station. There is a lift, which is convenient. The room was acceptable. No TV, but for me it was not important.The shared bathroom was dirty.

Not a Pleasant Stay
The bathroom is this so called hotel is a nightmare. Broken toilet seat, shower with no curtain in the middle of the room, a toilet that would not flush properly. The internet is like dial-up. The bed was comfortable, and that is only good thing I can say about it. It was very expensive for the lack of quality. I will avoid Milan in the future, not matter how magnificent the architecture.

Disgusting, do not stay.
This hotel was disgusting and not as advertised. The sheets were definitely not clean and the room and bathroom especially had a terrible smell. We only stayed in the room long enough to find another hotel. There is definitely a lower standard for economy hotels, but this was definitely below standard and was absolutely unacceptable even for the low price.

Rude staff, cancelled our booking
The staff at this hotel were extremely rude. We arrived to check in and were told that they decided to cancel our booking because pay at hotel was no longer and option, then they tried to sell us another overpriced room at double the original room price. Horrible experience, would not recommend.

A cleanliness, a location, a staff
A location is good and that is pretty much it about this hotel. I was not impressed by the staff who lied when I asked for a slipper for 3-4times. A housekeeper didn't fulfill her work and she actually cleaned my room only once , which I had stayed for 3 nights there. I had to ask for a new bed sheet after a long day from outside and made my own bed but the staff complained me that they found many bed sheets on my bed and I responded that was because their housekeeper didn't change the bed sheet and clean my room and that was what I told them before! A radiator didn't work for 2 nights-the first night and the last night. They fixed it the second night after I reported the problem to them. The hotel had been worn and there was noise at night. I would strongly not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is old and does not have any 'comfort' facilities to use, ie breakfast etc.. The beds were okay however the room was not very clean.

We are happy to read that you appreciated our excellent location, but we are surprised to hear that the room was not clean enough, our cleaning staff works with us since ten years and every day they have to clean the room and change sheets and bath towels. We invite our guests to inform the desk staff for every kind of request, in order to remedy any discomfort. We want to inform that hotel Virgilio closed for renovation, november and december 2013. Mattresses and pillows are new with fire-resistant guarantee, as the floor and all the walls. The set courtesy of our hotel includes sealed disposable slippers, useful for after-shower too. Wifi is free in all rooms of the hotel, AC on request, as the rooms with terrace on the upper floor. The front desk staff is present 24 hours a day and able to speak more languages. Best regards.

The hotel is close to Milano Centrale and that is about all I can say. I can stay here, but I would never ask my wife to stay with me at 93 Eu per night...just not worth it.

Your stay by us was in high season, during the Milan Design Week, therefore the price for hospitality was higher than usually. A good value for money is certainly a prerogative of Virgilio. On top we want to inform that Virgilio closed for renovation, november and december 2013. Affordable in Milan
Things I liked-We stayed here for nine days and mostly used it as our hub hotel. It's about a block from the Milano Centrale train station which is very convenient since we visited other countries on this trip. The train station has eateries and shopping and is quite large. The main subway station is also located in the station and it was about a 10 minute ride to Duomo City Center. I highly recommend this hotel if your on a budget and aren't planning on staying in the room your whole trip. We basically used it to store our stuff, sleep and shower and it was perfect. The beds were comfortable and I have a bad back, I liked the walk in shower. The room has the metal shutters so you can keep the room really dark to sleep in and this is a plus!We got free WIFI and never had a problem logging in which is great. They also have two vending machines in the lobby for water and coffee. Things I disliked- We told them on two separate days that we would not like our room cleaned and they were still cleaned. We always kept our room key with us and one day one of the staff told us we need to leave the key when we leave the hotel. He was the only guy who ever asked for this. The other staff never mentioned to us about leaving the hotel key at all. Not sure what that policy is.

We suppose that the room < hannah > refers to, belongs to our most economic category with shared bathroom, possibily the cheapest price in town. Comune bathrooms are comune, and our cleaning staff do not work 24 hours a day. Will hopefully in good manners of the guests in using the shared bathroom during the hours without maid service. Of course we have a choice of rooms with private bathroom with amenities that include set courtesy , safety-box, television, AC, wifi free, at a slightly price. Hotel Virgilio is a storical two stars hotel with an excellent location and with low and competitive prices. We want to inform that the hotel closed for renovation, november and december 2013. Mattresses and pillows are new with fire-resistant guarantee, so as the floor and all the walls. Wifi is free in all rooms of the hotel. The front desk staff is present 24 hours a day and able to speak more languages. We invite our guests to inform the desk staff for every kind of request, in order to remedy any discomfort.

The hotel closed for renovation, november/december 2013. Mattresses and pillows are new with fire-resistant guarantee, so as the doors, the floors and  the walls of the hotel. There are still a few things to do, but we are working on it. Hairdryer are now in all rooms with private bathroom. Next to the hotel there are two restaurants, maybe that's the reason of smell from outside. Kind regards.

the room is quite spacious. there is an AC but we cant find the remote for it. i think there's an additional charge if we use it. there is no fan either. good thing the weather is not too hot nor too cold so we left the window open a lttle bit through out the night to have some air in the room. we have our own bathroom but there is no shower curtain so when we took a shower, the whole bathroom got wet. my husband keeps complaining about the smell of the bathroom thats why we keep the bathroom door closed all the time. check in time is 12pm and when we got there at 12:30pm, the receptionist guy told us to come after an hour because the room is not ready yet but informed us that we can leave our baggage at their locker room. after an hour, we came back at the hotel so we can rest for an hour before going out in the city proper. the same receptionist told us to come back again after an hour. its a good thing there's another receptionist who allowed us to go in our room. the location of the hotel is like 10 minute walk to milano central.

Good basic hotel close to the main railway station
We stayed at the Virgilio due to its location near the railway station which made visiting Monza for the formula 1 easy. We were greeted by very friendly staff who spoke good English and advised on the location of good restaurants.The room was basic but clean. Air con worked well as was not too noisy. Shower was adequate but could have been better. Overall the facilities matched the price. .

worst hotel to stay
I dont recommend at all, its a terrible place to stay, no refrigerator, no electric socket working in the room, no wifi signals you wold have to go down to reception, very very tiny rooms.

Mrs. Malik Ghulan Pasha reserved a room for one adult with children, but in fact the adults were two! No other rooms were available, so we arranged with an extra bed in the room, without pretending any extra charge! - Air conditioning is only on request. - Electric socket are overall but not behind the bed for fire-safety. - Mrs. Malik Ghulan Pasha forgot to change the first wifi router connection at the reception with the other hotspot connection at the sixth floor!!!

We have reopen last year after two months of renovation and refreshing. Matrasses and pillows are new, fireproof , as well as the corridor floors, all doors, and walls. Wi-fi is free in all rooms of the hotel. The desk staff is present 24 hours, so we invite our guests to inform us for every kind of problem or request!

The hotel was very easy to find with very friendly and helpful staff. This was value for money. I had a single room with shared bathroom. The room was very clean and as was the shared bathroom. I haven't had a problem with bathroom with no one there when I wanted to use

Ok hotel, somewhere to put the head down
Not ideal if you are going to be there for a long time. Small rooms, limited facilities. We spent all day out, just came back to sleep and it was fit for purpose.

We are very surprised ti read this unkind comment! All the staff speaks english! Some of us speaks also french, german and arabic. The room this gentleman refers to, belongs to our most economic category: 35,00 euro, tax included. Possibly the cheapest price in town. Of course we have a choice of rooms with more facilities at a slightly price. Perhaps Mister Marcelo was not our guest, perhaps...
