“4star-On the edge”
What exactly is four star? This hotel has reasonable sized rooms ,decent bathrooms, very dull decoration best described as hotel grunge. No wifi which for a supposedly 4* is disappointing. The dining room where they serve breakfast is overcrowded with closely set tables but a decent but not outstanding breakfast. I happened to be on an assignment looking at 4 and 5* hotels so investigated every aspect of over a dozen over the course of the next two days. This was the worst but also the cheapest which says something.Perhaps the main message is that it needs new ownership and some money thrown at it. The staff were pleasant but if you are a four star hotel you want to be able to give a bit morethan pleasantness ! Another plus was the fact that there was parking ,at a price, in the local public car park only a hundred yards away. Someone could make a really good hotel here with a little taste and investment.
“great central hotel!”
We stayed here in mid March. It had a great location, just a five minute walk to the Duomo, and around that all the great shopping venues. The hotel has a nice lobby, and good seating area with a bar. I have a 12 year old daughter and she asked for a virgin daiquiri which the man had never heard of, he worked to make her a nice drink which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also really liked the amount of "free stuff" in the room. Things that were a bit bad would be that the upstairs corridors were very hot, but it was not hot in our room though. Also the room was a little bit packed in. The breakfasts were so-so; sometimes the scrambled eggs were quite rubbery, and there was lots of things to eat there. So overall it was a good stay, it has a great location, and good service.
“A fair hotel”
Reviews I read of this hotel before I booked in led me to expect more than I got. The hotel is getting a bit tired and the service fairly casual but all-in-all it was fair and certainly better than ones I have stayed at in Athens and Cyprus. It has an excellent breakfast and great location.
“Not impressed”
Prior to this hotel I had stayed in another similar-rating hotel in Milano, which was far better, for many reasons: hotel Brunelleschi was dark and dingy, in an unwelcoming area of down (although close to the Duomo it was not a pleasant area), the room was dark and the bed uncomfortable, the pillow was paper-thin (and this room was an upgrade). Breakfast variation was good, although the serving staff were not very friendly. The reception of the hotel was not welcoming and always seemed rushed. I asked for a pizzeria recommendation and after receiving one headed there - the recommended restaurant was the worst pizza I had had during my stay in Italy and the service was rude. I would not stay here again. Further, the gym is in a dingy basement which you need permission from the front desk to use each time. I could not wait to leave the hotel.
“Skip this one”
Wonderful location convenient to all, hotel, however could use some work. The smell of air freshener (what were they hiding - it makes you wonder) was so overwhelming and sickening that I found it hard to sleep. Would have asked for a new room but my husband and son were exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. Hotel staff, particularly the breakfast people, were downright nasty. Would definitely not recommend.
“Perfect location!”
I wanted to stay very central and in a nice hotel. I could walk every where and never felt unsafe. The desk was open what seemed 24 hours. Some one was always at the desk to greet you as you walked in. Around the corner is Grom the most fantastic gelati place in all Milan. Walk the Domo it is amazing no ticket needed for inside but €3 for the outside stairs to walk on the roof top walk way. Right next door sit on the Roof top of the shopping center and enjoy a glass of bubbly with a small Typical plate of cheese and cured meat for €10 the view what a treat!
“Not impressed but GOOD”
it was good, clean, and frindly stuff !! the decore wasnt that good (old) but comfortable...
“I go every six months and I love it”
Everything about the hotel is great. Breakfast is fabulous the rooms are lovely. I enjoy every aspect of my stay in the hotel.
“Great hotel location”
Excellent hotel, right in city centre, around the corner from The Duomo. Good standard of comfort. Take the express from Malpensa Airport to a station just 3 stops from Duomo, then a very short walk from Duomo to Hotel Brunelleschi.
“Great Value with Quality”
Hotel Brunelleschi is the ideal place to stay for a city break. It's location is perfect (short walk to Duomo / Metro). The immediate area is quiet. Our room was clean, quiet (shuttered), well serviced and had all the amenities one would expect ( although not large). Staff were quietly efficient and helpful. Breakfasts were terrific with a fine range of hot and cold choices. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others. Being so near the Duomo, restaurants tend to be pricey but the easy to use Metro will soon get you to other areas (Navigli) and 'the happy hour'. The 'Last Supper Milan walking tour', booked through Expedia, is a must if you want to see 'The Last Supper'.
