“ok place”
This hotel was ok, our room was always clean and the location is really good, very close to South Beach. The staff at the front desk are not helpful in the least, they don't look anything up for you. We asked a few times for locations of bus stops or a few other things and the answer was always "i don't know, you'll have to find out for yourself" other than that I would have to say the hotel was nice and had a pool and nice people. over all was not bad, just needs a change of attitude at the front desk.
“Great location for the money”
My stay at the Tropics was positive. Very clean, bright rooms, daily service, and fresh carpeting on the floors. I especially enjoyed the pool area along with the close location to beaches, dining, Lincoln Road, and Ocean Drive. It would be nice to have a ice machine on the premises along with some cups or glasses in the rooms. I will stay at the Tropics again when I am in South Beach.
“Nice and convenient”
This hotel was everything the sites says it is. The location was great, short walk to all the activities on South Beach (the beach, stores, the clubs and restaurants). Lots of foreign young people and families on holiday but everyone was very nice and we had no problems with noise or anything. I would stay here again on my next visit to South Beach.
“Great choice for a tight budget”
Very old hotel in a perfect location. If you know what to expect for the price you pay here you will be happy. There are dents, gaps and cracks and old carpet and furnishings but the rooms are large and clean. If you are looking for a no frills bare bones safe, clean, bug free place to sleep this hotel will probably work for you. If you want luxury anything it wont.
“Can't beat it for the price!”
The hotel is right across the street from the beach. The pool area and hotel are clean and well maintained. This hotel costs 1/3 or less than the surrounding hotels, so there are no frills but the necessities are there. Great location......near Lincoln and all the hotels. Are only problem was the A/C in one of the rooms was not working. They changed us to another room the next day. I would definitely stay there again.
“Never Again!”
Was not impressed with this hotel at all. Very shabby. No towel for on floor of bathroom after shower. Couldn't find the maid whose cart was right outside our room for quite a long time. Never did find her. No glass in room. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
“good times”
...
“not impressed”
i didnt expect the best hotel when i arrived, but at least the staff to be nice and polite. the cleaning staff dont do their job correctly at all. the room was full of ants on the bed. overall the price was right but it wasnt clean enough.
“Location, location, location”
The hotel is literally 2 minutes walk from Ocean Drive for the quintessential Miami beach experience. Unfortunately, the location is the main plus point of the hotel along with the friendly front desk staff. The hotel itself is a traditional art deco build which has retained almost all its original features, fixtures and fittings. Appealling if you are a fan of the era but the tarnished metals and tired bathroom suites do look a bit shabby in my opinion. Breakfast was not included in our rate, nor did I come across a dining option on site however I would highly recommend the nearby Front Porch Cafe on Ocean Drive for a spot of breakfast. Overall, a cheap way to stay in Miami Beach but I think one night was enough for me.
“So So, not good not too bad”
The internet doesn't work at room. It is very inconvenient. I had to go to lobby to use internet.
