“Won't be back”
The lobby is vast and fantastic, but that's about all. Our room on the 12th floor was in a sad state of disrepair. The wall corners were all chipped, the carpet looked older than me (65), and there was a long ripple down the length of the room. We had a nice view of the beach, but the windows hadn't been cleaned in weeks or months.. One of our companions arrived in a wheelchair and no one even seemed in helping with our luggage, although they did. The food in the restaurant was quite good although a bit pricey. Overall this hotel is in need of a major upgrade
“Chris”
The WiFi in the room was nearly non existant . Very bad . THis needs to be addressed. Otherwise it was good.
“Major Updating Needed...”
We just got back from staying at the Deauville last week. Staff was very nice, however, the hotel itself needs some majoring updating. When you walk inside the lobby, that's nice, but the rooms...I felt like I was staying at a hotel out of the 1960's-70's. If you like very soft mattresses, you've come to the right place. The tubs enamel was chipping in our bathroom & the bathroom countertops were again out of the 1960's-70's. The freezer in our room was caked up w/ inches of frost. The location was a decent area. There's a 24-hour store right across the street, along w/ many mom & pop restaurants/shops where you can pretty much find anything you needed. In order for me to stay at this hotel again, they would need to do a major renovation.
“Awesome view, great stay - - If you're bring a car, don't expect to leave the hotel in a hurry!!!!”
For those that are planning on having a rental vehicle, please be prepared to have your patience tested!! Sitting on the steps of the hotel will be about 15 - 20 people, they are waiting for the valet to get their vehicles. 45 minutes was the longest we had to wait to get our car the following morning, 20 minutes was the best turnaround we received. Please note, if you are bringing a vehicle, this valet service is required, and it will cost you $20 a day, with in/out service. These folks are not in any hurry so neither should you be. If you have any timed plans make sure you leave an hour earlier, that way you'll be right on time!! Well enough about the valet, let's talk about the hotel, which was much better than the valet service. The front desk was very pleasant. I just booked a standard room with King bed, but they upgraded us to a ocean view room for free. The view was amazing, beach was very pretty, and you can watch the cruise ships leave port at night. The room was very large and comfortable. The hotel is old, as you can tell from the lower level and the hallways, but the rooms are very clean and updated. The pool area was very large, and have many beach chairs on the ocean for guests to use free of charge. There are several restaurants/bars within walking distance so that was nice. The Walgreens across the street was nice. Take a quick cab to South Beach, it will save you from spending a ton of cash on parking since everthing is valet.
“But they have a nice view...”
I booked this hotel because of its price. I wasn't blind about the valet price so I paid that with a credit card in case there was a scratch upon checkout. The room was ready when we arrived which was nice and the looby looks modern with a hint of art deco. When we got to our room we were blown away with the view--oceanview with a balconey (two chairs & a table). Then we inspect the rest of the room and it looks nice, at first. It seemed to be one of the "renovated rooms" that others have posted about since it has a nice-modern bowl sink, leather headboard, etc. But there were also things that made the place seem less than--no outlets, no lighting (especially inconvenient at night), shower head is too low, shower rod is as "twist & tight", the bathroom wall paint looks either lavendar or prison gray depending on the lighting. I thought the iron was broken so I called for a new one--still waiting. So this is definately not the W, but for every thing that was not quite right, we qualified it with---but the view is amazing. And it was. If you do go there--there is some amazing restaurants right accross the street. The beach is nice, don't go to the beach bar unless you want overpriced underquality drinks. I find it baffling that this place doesn't fix their ways considering all the consistent bad reviews they get on these websites concerning their customer service. But then again, the view is amazing.
“Not Impressed”
Upon checking in we were not given the accommodations that I had reserved on line. We requested to be moved or an adjustment be made on our bill. No action was taken until I called a second time.
“For college spring break only...”
Lobby was nice. Front Desk staff was very friendly. The room was dismal and drab. Old furniture and linens. The wall airconditioner did not work well. The bed had no blanket - only a sheet. There was a blanket in the hall closet but it was for a twin and the bed was a king. The grounds appeared as though they had not been updated for 10 - 15 years. There was visible rust on the railings and tiki bar and the pool area looked like it was out of and 1980's post-apocolypse movie.
“No parking lot available! 20 USD per day, the worst valet parking ever”
The Hotel does not have a Parking Lot for clients, How come? Beside that there is a twenty dollar charge per day for the Valet Parking - which is obviously not optional- We waited 40 minutes for our car each morning. The Valet Parking team does not use uniform, no way to trust them or recognize them. Ended up parking our car half block in a Public Parking, which is free during the night and very affordable rate per hour from 8:00 am. The rooms are dark, not enough light. Old furniture and carpet. We will never stay there again. The worst Customer Service ever.
“wrong rated”
i was really amaze when i get into the hotel the lobby was beautiful, but the rooms corridor is dirty, cigarette smell, the room floor dirty, and smell too. so i went down and request a change, they gave me a new room, but the second one was worse than the first one, i rated this hotel with one 2 stars.
“Never will I return.”
Poor customer service. Under staffed, no accomodation.
