“Miami Beach”
The Continental is what it is, don´t expect more. The price is clear enough. But during the art fair Basel Miami, all hotel prices are more than double of usual rate. It has the best location, next to the best hotels, the rooms are big, really big. Staff tries their best. So it depends on what you are looking for, I need location within a budget.
“monga”
Horrible!!!!!!! I was terrifie when Im staying there. A lot of bugs, bed, carpet, pool, bathroom were dirty!!!! Really bad. I will never stay there ever again.
“YUCK”
Worst place I ever stayed
“Know what you're getting yourself into”
We booked this hotel for a last minute vacation to Miami Beach during the December art fairs, so our options were limited. While it wasn't the fanciest hotel we've ever been in, it wasn't the worst. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but the rooms could use some updating and the surrounding areas some landscaping/reshaping. It's location is cushioned between some very swanky places which makes the facilities seem very bad. The owners would be well served to invest in a makeover.
“Good enough for what it is”
This was my 3rd stay at the Continental Oceanfront. Although the hotel itself is rundown, staff is friendly & accomodating & it's right on the beach & there is nothing else in its price range available in such a great location. That said, if you are sensitive to mold, are a germophobe, or otherwise very particular about cleanliness, the condition of the hotel may not suit you. I would not say it's dirty, just that it could use some rennovatons, new paint job & seems to have had some water damage that went unattended & left a moldy scent & water stains behind. The rooms could use their carpets replaced or at least shampooed as well, as evidenced by black footprints left in the tub after walking around the room barefoot. The rooms could also be better lit, have full length mirrors & more outlets (I bought a power strip on my first visit that I always bring with me when staying there ever since). Still, until I have money to burn on the more overpriced hotels in the area I will stay here. How much time do you really spend in the room anyway?
“The worst ever”
When we arrived, the bell man had told us we could not leave the car in front to unload, then told us we could? We then went upstairs and as we are walking to the room the hallways smelled like sewer. Our room looked as if someone had been laying on one of the beds. We were moved to another room and we dropped off everything, turned on a/c so that the room would be nice and cold, but it wasn't at all. By this time it was 3 am and we were beat. We moved to another room and neither the a/c not the windows worked. Finally we were moved to a half decent room that the a/c did work and so did the windows. Not a good experience at all.
“CANADIANS IN MIAMI FOR THE FIRST TIME”
Surprised at the condition of the Hotel Wasted lobby space needs upgrading not the best nor the worse if you plan on spending a lottime out of your hotel room. Great place to rest if you ar not interested in te extras. verry basic.
“CONTROL”
No coffee, can't have any food delivered, except from their over priced room service., have to park car in a parking garage 2 blks away.. no internet in rooms, just in lobby (when I was there around 25 was trying to use the wireless.. SLOW.. Going back to Miami Beach, will not be staying here
“Dirty, abandoned. Go to a hoste, you´ll fill better”
Everithing is broken, no mantenience at all in about 20 years. I do not exagered. Hotel is dirty. They don´t even try to inform you, they want to take your money. For example, they have a very old mechanic card key, and they dont want to change it, they dont put a single coin in the hotel. If you loose the key they have to change the entire lock. So they ask you for $20 dollars just in case you loose the key. It is your problem, not theirs!!!! It is worst than a hostel, yo better go one if you are thinking in this places.
“Not going back!!!!!”
The only great thing about this hotel is the location and the pool right on the beach. Other than than that I do not recommend it at all. It's dirty, cheap and very bad maintained! It's not even worth the money!
