Property Amenities
Rooms
This six-story Miami Beach hotel has 92 guestrooms. Rooms are decorated in a low-key Deco style. Beds have blond oak headboards and all-white bedding, with built-in shelves and silver bedside lamps. Richmond Oceanfront Hotel rooms include armchairs, large mirrors, faux-1930s clock radios, and Deco-inspired floor lamps. Closets include red umbrellas, safes, and bathrobes. On the walls are framed, enlarged prints of Miami Beach postcards, circa 1940.
Small bathrooms have original tiling. Silver rolling trays hold beach towels and hair dryers. Climate control is rather quaint, with old-fashioned dials that open air vents to central air-conditioning (the hotel was one of the first to install air conditioning after WWII). Views are of Collins Avenue, surrounding hotels, the hotel courtyard and pool, or the beach and ocean.

“Quaint and convenient”
Historic hotel right up from all the SoBe action - close enough to walk, but far enough to be quiet at night. Rooms are older, but well-maintained and very clean. Pool area is wonderful, and staff friendly and helpful. This is a great budget hotel if you want to near but not right in the middle of the action.
“Not impressed”
Pool open at 7.00 a.m. , towels available after 9.00a.m. ,I don't think it is funny.
“Scary experience, but good location”
The front desk made a mistake and gave access to my room to someone else's key card. A few hours after I checked in, a stranger opened my door with his own key card and said that he had just checked in and front desk staff gave him this room. When I telephoned the front desk, the staff's attitude was very nonchalant. It was not until that I personally walked down and asked to speak to a manger that an apology was given. Mistakes happen, but dealing with them properly is crucial. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers concerned about safety (i.e. single females), but if you are traveling in groups and looking for just a place to sleep, this is an economical hotel with great location to most of the actions.
“Excellent”
Wonderful location, ran every day on the beach followed by a swim, loved Church Mouse, & easy walk to west palm for lots of eating & entertainment. Love the cookies and guy at reception
“Clean, comfortable room”
This hotel has a great location on Miami beach. It is walking distance to convention center, Art Deco district, Lincoln Road shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and polite. The room was clean and comfortable. There is an in-room safe! The bathroom was small but clean and the towels were soft and fluffy. I would stay here again.
“Good location for the price.”
Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location in walking distance to most interesting areas. Hotel is in need of improvement and remodeling. It has seen better days, but for the money you get a really good location. Might stay there again
“Just ok for the deal price”
Great location- easy walking distance to restaurants, Art Deco area, shops & concert hall. Pool good but very noisy pump room and too few lounges. Beach access very handy. Valet parking very expensive but attendants prompt and friendly. Room standard to small with good cupboard space and bathrobes, clean enough but very small ants running around bedside table. No fridge and bathroom badly planned (toilet too near door!). General ambience impersonal. A functional hotel, not one you want to spend much time in. Not worth the "walk-in" room price we heard quoted to enquirers.
“Will never go back to this place”
The hotel was very old and in a great need of remodeling. There was a big roach in my room. Bath rooms are in bad shape.
“Only if you are not a hotel snob”
I travel for a living and I hardly ever book out of my Hilton family hotels. This hotel was simply for convenience (walking distance to the convention center). The staff was really great, but the rooms and the fitness center, were both less than desirable. If you are in it for the area and the cost, you are good to go, but not for comfort. The pool and direct access to the beach were definitely the best things the hotel has to offer. My hopes are they can re-do this hotel and life would be good.
“Faded glory - Could do better”
Location perfect for conference centre, street attractions, and beach and nice pool area. Hotel with faded glory, poorly finished, thin walls, single glass windows, noisy neighbours next hotel music and full conversations of the peoplein next room. The plumbing was even noisier with low water pressure in the shower. Tries for art decco but closer to 1950s styling. Restaurant there but basic and no service by the pool unless you walk in first to order. No hotel info pack in the room or restaurant menu on view. Staff friendly and helpful but not very well informed about the area. eg there is a bus to the airport directly outside the hotel for only $2.00 but they did not mention this only the shuttle for $21 when asked. Also had to pay extra for WIFI in room ($10 per day til 3pm) and business centre by the minute. Even the sunloungers on the private hotel beach had to be paid for at $30 per day.
