“Will definitely stay here again when visiting Miami.”

Stayed 10 days. The entire staff were helpful and nice. Breakfast daily was good with many choices. Fun 'special' nights too...i.e. Managers Toast...BBQ's, etc....Felt safe and 'at home'.

Nightlife
Many restaurants and rooftop lounges that made the evenings fun.

“A great location for a vacation”

I picked this hotel in Coconut Grove for the third week of December as a base for a vacation in South Florida. Coconut Grove turned out to be a great place for this. It's not overly touristy but has lots of food, shops, sights and people in the day and during the evening. Lots of families. So you can wander around and relax, then venture out when you want to go somewhere or do something. It's only a few minutes from downtown Miami and the Beaches, as well as 2 national parks further south. The hotel was great. Not a five-star but a good basic hotel with two pools and a decent fitness room that never seemed to be over-used. The suites are reasonably large and make it easy to stay with a family for the week. There was a Fresh Market down the street if you wanted groceries or prepared meals for in the suite. The breakfast is included and was terrific. I normally have a small breakfast but I think I ate more there everyday than I do for dinner normally. Hot and cold buffet with lots of stuff. I would definitely recommend the place. I looked hard for "bugs" having been over-run by them on my last trip to the area 25 years ago, but found none!

“Great Area”

Located in a great shopping/restaurant area. Within a short walking distance are major chain restaurants (Chili's, Hotter's etc)as well as small family restaurants offering the local fare. Boutiques and antique shops line the clean and safe streets. The restaurant offers a complete breakfast in their large and clean dining area.

“Beyond Expectations”

Some friends and I planned a trip down to Miami for our alumni weekend and Reunion. I found that the best offer both in price range and proximity to our planned destinations was the Residence Inn in Coconut Grove. Within a short walking distance we were able to enjoy the restaurants and bars that Cocowalk and the surrounding neighborhood provide. Also, the hotel was a central location for those places we needed to drive to - campus, south beach, and the airport. Most of all, we were impressed by the room offered. More space than we imagined- including a living area with a pull out bed, 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, and dinning area, all right across from a relaxing pool. To top it off, the staff was very nice and accomodating, assisting us with directions, suggestions, and calling cab services. I would definitely stay there again on my next visit.

Traveller's tip
Brush up on new restaurants in the area you are to travel to, even if you had been there many times before. In just one year, 4 places I had planned to go to had closed and turned into new restaurants/bars. However, be sure to try something new - may end up being your new favorite! Also, always remember - its vacation, its OK to splurge on a fancy meal and drinks - its worth it! (see Jaguar in Coconut Grove, next to CocoWalk.)

“No bar and restaurant”

Too bad this hotel does not have bar and restaurant beside this was OK. Going to my room from main lobby I had to pass by utility and laundry room. Not so nice experience.

“Will stay there next time i have travel to the Miami, Coconut Grove area!”

Very clean and profession. The hotel staff even made dinner reservations for us at the last minute and it was an excellent choice. Will be going back in October for another short but relaxing stay!

“Too HOT”

the hotel location was perfect, but the bedrooms were vary hot, and the living room was vary cold, i called the front desk, they try to fix it, but in the end it was HOT

“Good hotel with some minor issues”

The hotel is in a great area. Within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants in Coconut Grove but away from all of the noise. We did have a few minor problems though. The faucet in the shower was tricky and we didn't think we had hot water one night. One day the maid didn't leave any replacement towels and we had to call the front desk to get them late at night. And the living room seemed very dark, although it's painted in bright, tropical colors. All in all though, we thought the front desk staff was very pleasant and eager to help us when we needed it. I'd stay here again if the price is right.
