“Won't be back.”

The best part about this hotel was the staff and the location. They were very nice, helpful, and overall quite warm. It's right across the street from the beach, and off a main road so it's easy to get to other places.The rest was quite negative. The hotel is old and has a dank smell. The ice machine doesn't work, and the bedding was quite uncomfortable. Every time the the AC restarted the TV (antiquated) blacked-out momentarily as the signal interrupted. They only supply large towels, no hand, face or foot towels, nor do they give shampoo. There were no curtains in our room, just blinds that did not filter out much light. There is WiFi, but it only works in the lobby and patio. Also, parking is NOT free, you must pay the city parking meters until 8pm, after which is free. The area is also plagued by many stray cats that wandered onto the property. I rated cleanliness low b/c there was a light colored hair in the tub. My hair is black. The bottom line here: In Miami, you get what you pay for. I recommend paying a few dollars more for something better. The cheap price isn't worth it. Total dive.

Area recommendations
I would recommend slightly more south on Miami Beach, because it is close enough to Downtown Miami and South Beach to be convenient, but away from all the congestion and ruckus if you don't want to be bothered by that at night. Or South Beach.
Dining
There are many great restaurants! Everything I ate I loved, even foods that I previously didn't like. However, if this is your first time visiting Miami, be prepared for the 15-18% gratuity fee on each tab.

“ughhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!”

this is without a doubt one of the worst places I have ever stayed. it was SCARY. the place is something you would expect to be by-the-hour. yiykes!! the room was very small, and the air conditioner (window) inadequate. very old everything. linens were doubtful. they were grungy and gray, looked dirty but to give it the benefit of the doubt, maybe just old and worn. never saw any roaches but were on the lookout. desk clerk was SCARY. noise til 3a.m. mattresses miserable. breakfast was minimal and late. again, very nervous to eat, scary people delivering. the positive part is that the beach is DIRECTLY across the street and lovely. no parking, have to feed the meters. neighborhood cops very friendly and gave us a great restaurant recommendation. all in all, I wouldn't recommend unless you are a city person, very brave and not very fussy. in my opinion, definitely not someplace I would pay this much to stay again.

“The worst hotel on world :(”

:( :( :( bad service, the elevator is broken , everything is dutty and the smell is terrible , one of the bad days on my life I hate this place :(

“You get what you pay for!”

It is true when they say you get what you pay for! The room was dirty when we arrived. Bedspread had stains on it, floor was dirty (not swept), shower had hair in the tub and on the shower curtain. The toilet didn't flush, even after they "fixed" it. Breakfast consisted of raspberry Zingers, chocolate covered macaroons, nutter butter cookies, and spiced coffee. By the second day we noticed that the door to the room beside us was open and a smell was beginning to become noticeable. On day three the smell was unbearable and am pretty sure no one had been in the room to clean as the door was still open. When we complained to the front desk we were subsequently lock ed out of our room and didn't know it until 2 a.m. when we returned. Needless to say, we changed hotels and managed to salvage the rest of our vacation. We did have a terrace off our room, the view was beautiful, and the ocean was literally right across the street...those are about the only positives I can say. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to stay in South Beach and not this wannabe hostel.

Definitely stay in South Beach! More convenient and much more to see. The beaches were better and people were very friendly!

“Fabio”

The hotel is simple, in front of the beach, clear. Is far from the downtown but you can use your car to do that. I recommend.
