“great location & free parking”
ok spot
“You get what you paid for.”
Very convenient location but room was not well maintained - no bathroom doorknob. Bath tub and floors looked dirty. Free internet access but was so slow and consistently dropped.
“Good for fast staying...”
Very goodfor those who want to enjoy yhe city and do not want to stay at the hotel. There´s nothing special at the hotel, but the beds are good to have a nice night of sleeping after a busy day!
“good hotel for 2 nights stay”
great for the money that we payed and not for long stay - the room was old and smelly
“My review of the Midtown Inn - Pt 1”
My family and I had the displeasure of staying at the Midtown Inn on July 9th 2011 and 10th. The ad responsible for persuading us to make a reservation showed a modern, plush and comfortable Inn. I must say that I felt betrayed and misled by that Midtown ad when we finally found and checked into the Midtown Inn. Looking back, I guess the first clue was our difficulty in even finding the Inn. After driving around we stopped and called finally getting somewhat directions to it. What a shock it was when we (my family) checked into what appeared to be a modern, cozy Inn on the outside only to be dismayed by its interior. The outside may have looked great. However, we didn’t live on the outside. When we entered our room, it was small, smelly, dirty and nasty looking. The ill stocked sink area looked unsanitary with missing nozzle caps on the hot and cold handles revealing a white, gelatinous, pasty film forming down in the exposed areas. The bathroom was not much better. It had moldy tiles in the corners and around the soap holder, and a dusty, hairy intake air vent (which looked like it had never, ever been cleaned). We used tissue to turn the water on and off at the sink and didn’t take a shower despite a 13 hour drive to get to this Inn. In addition to all of this, the room smelled almost as if someone urinated in there and then tried to cover it up, which is not the same thing as cleaning it up. Finally, the carpet was stained and dirty.
“Great location. Fair Price.”
Hotel is a little old. But it's very close to South Beach and has free parking and free wi-fi. Ideal for people who does not spend much time in hotel.
“Bad experience”
I would't return to this hotel.
“Spring Cruisin'”
The Midtown Hotel was an average hotel for those people who don't want to spend a lot of money. The most annoying part of our stay was the lack of customer service given to us. The two employees we dealt with seemed more concerned about talking on the phone and making us wait until their conversation was done. We had also chosen the air/cruise package and it's a good thing I called them about transportation from the airport. I was suppose to let them know two days prior what our arrival time was. I informed the desk person that we were never told this and I had actually emailed the hotel without ever receiving any response. His comment was "it figures, the manager doesn't answer emails".Additionally, the pool was dirty and the response was the pool maintenance person had the weekends off-well wouldn't you think most people would like to take a swim on the weekend? It's an alright hotel for a one night stay but I certainly wouldn't make a week out of it.
“Place to sleep during UltraFestival!”
After reading some of the reviews online re this motel I was a bit worried. But the place far exceeded my (low) expectations. Our room was clean- sheets, pillows, bathroom, sink, rug, all of it!- sure the motel is older and the neighborhood is Biscayne Blvd closer to the North end but ITS NOT SOUTH BEACH people. And the motel doesnt claim to be high-end (the prices alone should tell you that). TV worked, fridge worked, plenty of warm water, nothing wrong with the pool we spent a couple hrs poolside Sunday. Great staff, best thing about the hotel was its proximity to the food courts where Angelina's make your own waffle bar (or sundae or avocado and grilled cheese sandwich) was....also The Cheese Course had great salads/breads/cheeses, and a pizza place. Easy walk to Target to get basics too. Right on busline so very easy to take bus (we got day bus passes for the duration) to the beach or Bicenntenial Park where UltraFest was, which was the reason for our stay. I felt safe in the neighborhood, we walked back here 1x from Bicenntenial Park at about midnight, walked across the street middle of the night several evenings to get snacks/drinks/ took a cab a block away around 1 am, etc, and no problems or worries. Like any city I would suggest that people be smart and aware of their surroundings , but I had no issues with the area.
“Value for Money”
I recommend it just in case you are looking for a value for money Hotel. I did not feel realy comfortable at this Hotel. Nothing bad in particular but I will look for a better one (location and acomodations) in my next trip to Miami.
