“I would return to this hotel next time in Miami”
Very confortable room, nice location and close to the beach.
“Great experience”
My wife and I went to South Beach for a wedding. We really enjoyed our stay and this Hotel was perfect. Quick walk to the beach, close to restaurants and shopping. We didn't have or need a car, only took cab to/from airport. Another guest arrived late at night and had issues with their room not being cleaned, but our room and all others we talked to were clean.
“Good location, but just meh...”
Arrived at 4:15pm and checked in. When I opened the door to my room it was dirty and there was luggage and clothes everywhere... :/ Go back down, explain what's up.... supposedly that guest was supposed to have moved rooms that morning and did not. So, 45min later I was in that room. Not really a big deal but still. The room was fine. Comfy bed, lots of room, tiny tv but cable so I was fine. Saturday night there was some noise from the pool area but it wasn't too loud, every other night was really quiet. I really think the location is great with this hotel. It's 4 blocks south from all the craziness of the main strips so you don't get blasting music and scooters zipping around. It's really close to the beach and a nice dive bar, Ted's Hideaway. I'd only recommend this hotel if you're on a tight budget and want to go to South Beach. I spent a lot of time on the beach and walking around so it was fine for me to come in at night and crank up the A.C., turn on the tube and fall asleep. However, I think the Marriott that's 2 blocks away seems much nicer. Sure, it's more expensive but I think I would stay there if I would go back.
“Not impressed”
Consistenly had a maid's hair in bathroom, bed, etc. which was gross. Parking situation at hotel is odd as you are paying a private lot across the street for your hotel parking - this is your only option......
“Will go back if I get the room I want.”
Awesome experiance working with Expedia!
“Better than expected :) Good service, big+clean rooms”
My stay was better than expected! I was really worried about staying at the Mercury based on all of the negative reviews I had read, but it all turned out well. The rate was at least $100 less than any other hotel I could find because it was Art Basel weekend. Good service (they tried their best to make me happy - everyone from the front desk to the cleaning ladies that I interacted with). Clean & BIG room ("living room" with couch + TV, kitchen, two sinks with mirrors, king bed in the bedroom + TV #2). I felt safe in the area and in the hotel the entire time. I was traveling alone, so that was important to me. Before heading to Miami, I called the hotel to discuss my arrival and ensure they had my reservation in the system. Yes, all okay. I then asked them about the negative reviews I had read, particularly about the fact that porn movies were apparently filmed there based on a review. The person I was speaking to happened to be the general manager and he assured me that the movies were filmed under the previous owners and that he would personally do everything possible to make sure I had a safe and positive stay at the hotel. He gave me his name in case I ran into any issues. The only negative point was that they don't have hair dryers in the room, and the hotel hair dryer at the front desk was small and broken. But the staff did everything in their power make me happy under the circumstances. I ended up buying a hair dryer from Walgreens.
“Disappointed in MIAMI”
Ok...first off the hotel staff was indeed friendly I must admit but the rooms were not what I had expected them to be. The hotel looks old and beat up...the rooms have sliding doors which separate the toilet from the rest of the room...the tub is out and the open...no door giving wanted privacy. I stayed one night and went to another hotel located on Ocean Dr. This hotel is maybe ok for a newly wed couple that want to enjoy South Beach but really don't have the funds to spend on a decent hotel. If you are looking to have other folks in the room...I wouldn't recommend this hotel as mentioned before, the restroom area lacks privacy. When we requested extra towels, we were told that they were in the dryer and when they finally delivered them to the room they were not folded and they only gave us two. I asked for a extra blanket and they dug in a closet to find what was said to be the only thing they had at the time, carpets were soiled, and tub was stained....HORRIBLE. I wouldn't stay there again. I had Expedia refund me for the remaining 2 nights. One up...the room had a sort of romantic scenery going on and the bed and pillows were extra soft... Signed, Disappointed in MIAMI!!!
“mercury ahh”
mercury is good for couples..not family or friends just gong to vacated..but beside that the people there r very friendly and very professional..i wish the plans i had for this vacation woud had work out for me and my mate but unofficiately it didnt..but i had fun with my friends..but like i said its a place for couples only...
“Nice two summer days in Miami”
The room was big, well iluminated and clean. Nice Windows, two TV, sound system and good air conditioner. I will come back again :-)
“Very noisy and nothing was working”
The spa was cold and the manager did not want to change anything for very odd reasons - it was not a technical issue The wifi was not reliable The Hotel was noisy, not only because of people partying arround which is natural, but also because of night staff having beers and watching TV shows on Internet and porn shows too... Laundry was dirty and unusable. Ice cubes maker was down since a long time.
