“Not that great”

The area was really loud at night you can hear drunk people yelling from your room at night. The side tables were dusty and one of the hand towels they put in our room must have been sitting there for a very long time. It had green mold-like stuff all over it.

“Outdated and area becoming rundown.”

Hotel a bit outdated and tired now. Good facilities generally. Cocowalk area not as lively as once was. Few quality shops now nearby.

“Coconut Grove Miami hotel”

My husband and I booked this hotel for the Thanksgiving weekend and we were extremely happy with the service, especially the personnel on the roof-deck, very professional, always nice and accommodating. I would definitely go back to the same hotel next time!

“Dissatisfied”

The hotel looked magnificent from the outside and from the web ad. But...the room was a disappointment. Shabby, a bit mildew-ey. Humidifiers certainly would have done wonders for this place. The hottub on the deck...was not appealing at all. The bathroom, big and spacious, did not have any outlets! and needed re-grouting. The staff was WONDERFUL, Kind and welcoming. But i would not recommend the rooms at all.

Next time: Coral Gables only.

“Would stay again...”

We stayed from Nov 11-14, 2011, even with multiple weddings due to the 11/11/11 date, the hotel staff was friendly and willing to accomodate. We arrived early and they were able to get us in our rooms well before the 4pm check-in...the room was clean and hotel atmosphere was great. The shopping was a little limited and expensive however the area was beautiful. We never had a bad meal the entire weekend. The Miami Improv is right behind the hotel, and we saw a show..great laughs. Check it out...We will stay again.

Area recommendations

Coconut Grove and/or take the $15-20 cab ride into Brickel.

“Out of the ordinary!”

We stayed at the Mayfair in November 2011. We were impressed with the architecture and decor. The staff was very accommodating. The in room jacuzzi seemed small and not worth the 30 dollar activation fee. The roof top bar and pool area was fun and chic. Exercise facility was small but adequate. One stroll around the interior and atrium/courtyard and we were hooked. Would come back anytime!

Miracle Mile, and Coconut Grove.

Shopping

The much touted 'Coco Walk' is interchangeable with just about any mildly upscale outdoor mall. The supposed hip factor of Coconut Grove is highly over rated.

Dining

Miracle Mile hosts the best restaurants in the area. Check out Randazzo's and Ortanique.on the Mile. Off-street parking meters accept credit/debit cards.

“loved it!”

From the moment we pulled up to the Mayfair, I was extremely impressed. From the entrance to the inside decor, the atrium zen garden, the roof deck pool and lounge and our suite complete with the soaking hot tub, it was more than i could ask for. the only down side was the parking situation- the hotel offers valet at different increments but up to $26 for over night with in and out access. Other option if you did not think you'd get the $26 worth was to park at the across CocoWalk garage which we were told was $10 a night. Well, that price fluctuated a lot depending on how long we kept the car in the lot, however it never came to $26 a night therefore that was a better choice for us. You would think that being the nice hotel/spa that the Mayfair is, they would offer a parking deal for their guests. Otherwise, staying in the hotel, it was more than perfect for us.

“Questionable”

They didn't clean our room one day. Their excuse was that they were so busy. They offered to clean it at 7:30 pm. We declined, since we had been running all day and just wanted to relax

Area recommendations

We really liked the Coral Gables area. Good shopping, food and it had a good vibe
