“Clean, cheap, good location”
The good: clean rooms, I saw cleaning staff around the hotel the whole time we were there. The location was right on Collins ave about a mole from Lincoln rf, only about a short 20 minute walk. The hotel is also right near the bus stop which you can take straight to the airport for $2.35. The bad: old hotel, the water temperature fluctuated horribly during showering an at one point stopped flowing; same with the toilet.
“Don't book here”
The room we were given was exceptionally noisy from traffic and the next room. When we complained we were told we couldn't move rooms as the other rooms were more expensive. We weren't told that we were booking a cheaper room or given any choice when we booked through Expedia. When we complained again they reluctantly moved us. In both rooms all the taps leaked. When we complained about this they sent someone to fix it but by the next night it was leaking again. The breakfast was so bad we didn't eat it on any morning despite having paid for it. Just a couple of baskets of very poor pastries and some cheap tasting orange juice and coffee. The Indian Creek hotel booked us a tour of the city, Everglades and boat tour (the hotel receptionist was quite pushy about us booking and clearly on commission). The tour company was really disorganised and used old and dirty buses. We spent most of the day waiting for their buses, waiting in their buses or just generally waiting for no obvious reason. We were taken to a cigar factory (as part of the city tour) which was just an attempt to sell us cigars. There was nothing else to do around the factory if you weren't interested in cigars so that involved another 30 mins waiting. Every person involved in the tour let you know they expected a tip (no one asked if we thought we received good service). a) Don't book Indian Creek b) If it's too late, don't let them sell you anything else
“it looks better on pictures”
well...it looks better on pictures...not clean at all. and you can easily hear your neighbours :) not fun at all. The hotel has 3 stars...that's a joke :))
“It exceeded my expectation”
Its a great pleasure to write about Indian Creek Hotel where I stayed with my family for 5 nights. It is housed in a old but well maintained building. We checked in about 3 hours before the scheduled check-in time and I must thank the guy at the desk for willingly allowing us to check in early. The suit he gave us was very well decorated and cooled well in the hot and humid Miami weather. With two HD TVs with cable connection, couch, chairs, desk, closet, two washrooms all made us happy. The service was excellent and the breakfast was ready on time. Damian was there when we check out very early in the morning. He called the taxi but on my request, he cancelled that as I was taking the local transit bus to the airport. Overall I highly recommend this hotel who is visiting Miami!
“you get what you pay for”
Pros: cheap, reasonable service according to price, has a pool, drinking water was available almost all time in the lobby - didn't have to buy it, 24 hr subway nearby + cheap supermarket food, have links with tour guides, has ironing facility, bus-stop nearby Cons: no hotel lunch/dinner, complementary breakfast is some muffins and orange juice only, have to buy internet per day for $6.99, old looking building and elevator, appliances were old
“4th time”
4th time in this hotel would gone again tomorrow
“Great for a few of days”
Had a pleasant stay. It's good for a few days I wouldn't stay long term. It's had some upgrades but needs a lot more. Hallways need new carpets and the elevator was out one night it too needs a new carpet and upgrade, too dark. The pool and graden area need an upgrades as well. The pool it self is clean but new lounge chairs and triming/cleaning of landscape would make it worthy of a 3 star hotel.
“Great little place”
I have stayed here several times and will keep going back. First, understand this is not a 5 star hotel in the heart of things, but if you want to stay near the action and not on top of it, this is a great place. The rooms are clean and the staff is really nice - it has everything you need and nothing you don't. All the action of South Beach is either a healthy walk or short cab ride away, and you have a quiet place to relax after a long day and night out without breaking the budget. Highly recommend if you're not seeking luxury but would like a decent place to call home base for your trip. For reference, I've also stayed at many places in Miami Beach including Loews, Doubletree Surfcomber, Beach Place, and Deauville, and for the $ this is the best value I've found.
“"Not impressed at all"”
It was nasty it was smelling so bad when we entered in nobody greeted us.Ricardo was at service desk he was a rude person and no customer service were found. It was 3 pm exactly when we arrived in the hotel so Ricardo told us just wait please then he took my ID a Credit card to do the check in after this he gave us the key and i was asking so can we check out in the morning or we have to wait for 12 pm for the day that we were leaving he told me you can check out right now so we did not have a welcome from him. The other employees were nice and helpful. But anyway we will never go back there it was nasty :(
“Too much hassle”
This is a quirky little hotel that probably has not been updated in several decades. Biggest problem -- parking. It's on the street where you can pay by cc if you are lucky enough to find a spot or its on a meter that takes mostly quarters. Front desk does not keep quarters on hand for guests. So, big pain especially on weekends. Internet connection slow and you have to pay for it. Not cool, when the hotel is already a hassle. Cleaning wasn't done promptly and they missed a whole day with us. There are very few places to walk to except beach so you need a car. Few restaurants except to drive to. Front desk was ignorant on sites to see or for giving advice on whether or not someplace you want to go is worth it. Pool didn't seem to be clean. So, steer clear until this hotel can get with a 21st Century guest program!
