“Excellent location and friendly!”
Warm and welcoming. Excellent location, minutes away from South Beach. Friendly staff who went out of their way to assist with requests. Would go back!
“Wicked Location”
The Astor was a great hotel. i stayed for 10nights and was extremely comfortable. The bed was to die for and the rooms were spacious. The staff were accomodating and pointed us British girls in the right direction for fun during our stay. The only issue we had, in which in reflection wasn't the worst was that the room didn't have a mini fridge, which would of come in handy in the July heat and also the complimentary breakfast was very basic and we ended up eating out for breakfast instead. i would defiantly recommend the Astor for the location (excellent) and the hospitality. wv love the girls from London July 2010 x
“Great old hotel”
An old hotel beautfully restored.
“The Hotel Astor is in a sad state of disrepair”
Stayed here in Sept 2010 during our first visit to Miami. Hotel has lots of potential (and the location is good) but it is down at the heel in many aspects. Reception area OK, the only lift is tiny, dark, hot and ancient, but bed was very comfortable and clean. Room furniture was minimalistic to say the least. Good enough bathroom but the hot tap in the sink did not work at all, so we had cold water only. Smoke detector missing, with wires hanging from the ceiling. Breakfast was absolutely abysmal, served in a tiny area. Asked for tea, but was told it was not available. The choice was orange juice, make it yourself toast, tiny muffins (only 2 were available) and coffee. Had to eat in the courtyard out the back of the bar where breakfast was served, as both the two tables available inside were occupied. This could be a lovely area, but was overgrown, dirty, seat pads were missing and there was broken glass on the tables. Did complain on checkout but was told a smoke detector was not necessary as it was a non smoking hotel..... Parking was non-existent so we had to resort to valet parking which was paid in cash as the guy took our car away, but when the same guy returned it the following morning he told us that we had not paid, and even after being shown our receipt, insisted on calling his boss! VERY disappointed with this hotel and would neither return nor recommend to anyone. Doesn't deserve business.
