“Good location and value for money”
Nice, a bit tired hotel, but with friendly staff and very convenient location-easy to get anywhere you like.
“Not a bad hotel in a quiet location”
I stayed at the Thunderbird for 2 nights after traveling down the East coast from NY. Check-in and check out were quick, less than 1 minute both times. The hotel is situated right on Sunny Isles beach and if you have a room at the rear of the hotel, then you will be overlooking the beach. The hotel has quite a big heated swimming pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is about 20 mins from Fort Lauderdale International airport, I used the airport shuttle bus (separate from the hotel). The hotel is a bit out of the way from South Beach although there is a public bus service which you can get from just outside the hotel, for about $2 I think. Aventura Mall is about a 20-25 minute walk away across Collins bridge and you could easily spend all day there. Again, there is a cheap bus service which will drop you off there. There is also a cheap supermarket across the road from the hotel. Note,the hotel was very quiet when I was there, just a handful of people in the bar and restaurant both nights.
“2011 Holiday”
Good hotel for a base to explore Florida. Great facilities, excellent location on the beach, note you get 2 sun loungers per room free. The beach bar is popular with the locals on a weekend. Loads of facilites nearby and the bus system is cheap and regular. Would definately stay again

A bit rundown, could hear next room too easily. Checked early due to this and the weather being rubbish.
