“lovely hotel in good position”

The Blue Moon was a lovely hotel in a delightful area. The only drawback was the swimming pool. If you are a keen swimmer the pool was tiny. One stroke and you reach the other end. Otherwise we thought it was in a great position,lots of shops and restaurants nearby,only one block back from the beach. Staff very helpful.Towels and beach chairs provided.Valet parking.

“Great place to stay in South Beach”

The hotel room was a good size for a double and also had a good sized bathroom. They do add a compulsory small charge per room/night but this is worth it as you get a good generous continental breakfast in the morning, plus the charge does include beach towels, discount at bar etc so its not a bad charge. The staff were very friendly. We stayed at a number of hotels in South Beach and this was definitely the best hotel of our stay. The pool is small but great for a quick dip at the end of the day. The location is great:only a 1-2min walk (or less!) to ocean drive and all the nightlife, beach etc. We had a very relaxing stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it as a good place to stay in South Beach.

“Fab location, can't wait to go back!”

The Blue Moon Hotel was great, very centrally located in South Beach. One block from the beach, close enough to restaurants, bars and clubs. The Hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. Had a wonderful stay there. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the hotel bar was a great place to hang out for pre and post dinner drinks as well as pre club drinks. Would definitely go back to the Blue Moon.

“great position”

this hotel is in the centre of it all. one street back from the night life. the hotel was spotless - great room - great shower. everything that you need - receptionist was great very helpful. Bar was a bit expensive and laked atmoshere - but we were there in the low season. if we go back to miami we would definately go back to the Blue Moon..

“Try out the Blue Moon!”

Stay at the blue moon hotel. The service was excellent (but that may have something to do with the fact that we were two single girls served by predominately male staff!). The rooms are a decent size with big bathrooms and the breakfast was more than adequate. The pool is more of a 'splash pool' which is fine if you just want to lounge rather than swim. It is a more than comfortable stay with a nice, cosy atmosphere which seemed to be lacking in the more grand hotels. Having said that, I recommend using the money that you save staying in a place like the Blue Moon to sample cocktails etc in the more fancy hotel settings (like Delano's and the Fountain). Start off though with cocktails made by John (the barman at the blue moon). He makes good cocktails and conversation (if you want, he can give you good advice on where to go in Miami). A few locals even drop in to see him and enjoy the laid back vibe in the hotel bar. If you're an avid tea/coffeee drinker like myself, you'd be glad to read that this is on tap during the day, together with fresh fruit and some snacks (this stops in the afternoon sometime). Finally, the pictures on the website are true to form. Enjoy your stay in Miami!

“Great Location & Good Value”

Blue Moon is not the most expensive hotel in Miami Beach, but I found it quite charming. It certainly is good value for money.

“Ideally located hotel”

Comfortable hotel, ideally located within walking distance to bars and beaches. Execellent quality of staff.

“Good despite the refurbishment work”

Hotel is in process of refurb. Our room was part finished (it had been recently painted but was fitted with old furniture). Entire second floor currently out of service. Work crew in action from about 8am to 7pm (even at weekends albeit for shorter hours). Pool area currently closed due to the ongoing work. Found room to be very noisy - walls must be made of paper and the windows allowed at lot of the South Beach late night/early morning clamour in. Very helpful staff. Pleasantly surprised by range (although not quality) of breakfast offerings. The 10 USD (plus tax) per room per day "resort fee" is worth paying (not that you get a choice!) as you will more than get value if you use the various amenities. The front desk can arrange a variety of tours (which are worth considering as they were usually better value than getting your own transport and admission tickets). This hotel will soon become part of the Marriott group (although it will retain its independent identity as part of the Autograph Collection). The finished rooms looked very smart. Fantastic location between 9th and 10th on Collins Ave.
