“If other choices are avaible we woud not choose it again.”

The hotel is in a very bad condition, everything looks dirty an very old. We would not touch anything in the kichen sine everything is so dirty. The windows could not be closed and locked inside. Bed is very uncomfotable. The hotel claims itself a 3-star hotel. It is not near even a 2-star hotel. The sheet looks dirty, and some hairs in bed before we got in bed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason. Hotel Galeria Plaza Reforma is two blocks away, you can pay less and enjoy a true 4-star hotel experience.

“Happily go back if we were to return to Mexico City.”

The hotel is nicely situated on a street full of resturants where it is quite inexpensive to eat. Ask for a room at the back as the street is pretty busy. Rooms are a little worn but comfortable. For what we paid we were more than happy.

Area recommendations
Our hotel was in the Zona Rosa and well placed for everything.

“Great hotel near Angel, Zona Rosa”

The suites were great, comfortable, increidibly spacious (for the price, one bedroom, full kitchen and a COMPLETE living room with 2 sofas and table). Internet access, walking distance of major offices and attractions. Only complaint was with the bathroom and shower wich were not in top condition. Cleanliness was impecable. Would recommend to a family or business travelers who need working and living space. The suites have a small restaurant on the ground floor perfect for breakfast, lunch or light dinner. It's so good, even been as a resident in Mexico City, great place for a stay.

“2 star price, 4 star rooms. Great Value”

I travel to Mexico city frequently, and have stayed at 6 or 7 hotels, until I stumbled on this one. For the past three years I have never gone anywhere else. This is the best value hotel I have stayed in anywhere...the rooms are very large, full suites, with a superking sized, very comfortable bed, separate kitchen area, separate living room and bathroom (including a jacuzzi tub and TV in the bathroom). Free broadband, stocked fridge with beers, spirits, water etc. bathrobes and massive bathsheets.Wood floors in all bedrooms which are kept very clean. AND, just two minutes walk from the Angel of Independence...how much better placed could you get? I have stayed at 4 star hotels desperately trying to be 2-star...this is the opposite. If I had to pick fault, the only carpet in the place is on the stairs and it could do with being replaced...but this is the only niggle I have. Great place and fantastic value overall.

Area recommendations
Turn left out of the hotel entrance, walk to the next block (1 min) and cross the road to the bakery / cafe with tables and chairs on the sidewalk. Try the croissants for breakfast...the best I have eaten.

“"Not Impressed"”

The girl at the front desk acted like she would help with days plans, but if you asked her to find out something, like the bus or places close by, she would say she would find out and then she would act like you never asked her. She was not very helpful. No one was ever in the dinning room and they never offered for us to eat there so I wasn't for sure if it was really open. The one good thing about the hotel is it was not far from the Angel and the bus and they would get a good taxi for you and English speaking if you needed them. the Internet said all rooms have a balcony but actually none of the rooms did nor a view.

Area recommendations
Zona Rosa area is the best and safest
Getting around
Take the touri bus with the open top. You can ride all day and get off and on as you like. It comes around about every 30 minutes and the whole tour is about 3 hours long, but if you missed something you can always ride around again. It has headsets to tell you where you are. Ride on top so you can see it all, but if it is a hot day wear sun screen. The cost is about 125 pesos and it runs til 9 pm. The city is great to see at night too.

“Great value for money, clean & comfortable”

This hotel offers outstanding value for money and is very clean. Full size, two-room suites with an interconnecting kitchen area, massive, comfortable beds, good wireless internet (free of charge), good linens, complementary towelling robes, jacuzzi baths, TV in the bathrooms as well as bedroom, just 2 mins walk from US embassy and Angel of independence. I travel to Mexico around 6 times a year...always stay here.

Dining
Great little fresh bakery for breakfast, opposite side of road, turn left out of hotel 100 yds. Fantastic croissants and fresh OJ

“I couldn't have been more pleased”

We didn't even get out of the cab and the bell boy was there for our bags and to escort us to our room. He took the time to go through each room and explain how everything worked. The hotel room looked EXACTLY like the pictures online right down to the bedspread. I was impressed with their responsible use of motion sensor lights in the hallways and the use of the keycard to engage the room lights in an effort to conserve energy. Housekeeping was very accommodating to the unusual hours that we kept and politely called to see if we wanted our suite cleaned or if we were in need of anything each day. As it was my intent to improve my Spanish-speaking skills, I was thrilled with the staff's patience and encouragement when attempting to engage in conversation. Room Service was timely, the food was fantastic and at a very reasonable price. Aside from that, the location was fabulous and very quiet and within walking distance of the Zona Rosa, shopping, the Paseo de la Reforma, and just a moment's ride on the subway from the Centro Histórico.

Area recommendations
Don't miss the Zona Rosa at night for a fun and bustling atmosphere. And DEFINITELY don't miss seeing the Pyramids in the Architectural Zone. You can take a bus for very little. The ride is comfortable and the sights along the way are varied and interesting. Also, don't miss walking the Paseo de la Reforma, especially at night. I found the city amazingly safe and people very friendly. As a single woman, I had no hesitation being on my own there.

“good for the price”

I spent two weeks at the Suites del Angel and had a very good extended stay rate. It's clean, safe and well located. But the internet connection was spotty at best, there was a strong smell of mold in the bathroom, the hair dryer and the coffee maker didn't work and there wasn't an iron in my room. The staff was helpful and addressed all my problems promptly (except for the unreliable wireless connection). I would definitely go back. For the price it was great. If I had paid full rate, I would be significantly less pleased.

“Review of Suites del Angel”

The Good: Quiet, lots of hot water, convenience of having a kitchenette, friendly maid, maintenance man, and front door guy. The Bad: Wireless internet was available only about 50% of the time and browsing was very slow, air conditioning system was noisy, hotel seemed understaffed (kitchen and front desk) causing delays for food or service. Limited TV channels and poor reception. Parking is great if you drive something the size of a golf-cart or smaller. No English speaking staff? The Ugly: Shower tile appeared to have black mold spots, several of the hotel towels appeared to have stains, shower tile was loose and falling out, shower fan did not function, small living room furniture is ready for the garbage, our view was of the back of the hotel parking lot and a back alley. Not sure I would return to the city and quite certain I wouldn't return to this hotel.
