“NOT WHAT EXPECTED FROM A HOTEL PROMOTED BY EXPEDIA”
MY JR SUITE IS DECORATED IN WHAT THE HOTEL CALLS "COLONIAL," ACTUALLY IT IS POOR TASTE, BAD PAINT JOB ON DOORS, BATHROOM IS VERY SMALL, SMALLER THAN SOME EUROPEAN HOTELS, FIXTURES ARE VERY OLD. MATTRESS IS NOT COMFORTABLE VERY HARD. THE ONLY TV IN THE "SUITE" IS AN "OLD" DAEWOOD 20" WITH MISSING BOTTOMS, THE REMOTE CONTROL WORKED AT TIMES YOUR FINGER WOULD HURT TRYING TO CHANGE CHANNELS, ONLY 11 CHANNELS ARE AVAILABLE, NO CNN OR OTHER IMPORTANT NETWORK, THE HOTEL DOES NOT OFFER CURRENCY EXCHANGE IF YOU NEED MEXICAN PESOS, THE WALK TO NEAREST MONEY EXCHANGE HOUSE IS OVER 10 BLOCKS. I REQUESTED TO BE MOVED TO A BETTER ROOM NO ONE WOULD EVEN GET BACK TO ME WITH AN ANSWER.
“Great value for the price”
Is a good location (close to Zona Rosa). Close to restaurants & access to tours etc.
“Basic advantage: Nice Location, quiet surrounding”
"Full breakfast" means very basic Continental Breakfast
“One of the best kept secrets in Mexico City !”
Without any doubt outstanding service and friendly people. I did feel at home ! Detail for improvement: I’d like to find good fitness equipment
“The penthouse is nice.”
I enjoyed the stay. The private patio is the bomb. Only a couple of issues. 1) The sliding glass doors DO NOT lock. But you are the only unit on the top so no one can get to you. 2) The room was clean, but there was a condom wrapper under the bed. 3) The water took forever to get warm, then would scald you and then get cold. Overall I was happy but it was at a discounted rate. Full price is not worth it. The receptionists were very nice.
“A gem”
A charming little hotel in a wonderful neighborhood, across the street from a sweet little park. And the price is sweet, too. I almost hate to share it with anyone else. Shhh...
“Nice, safe, but noisy.”
No-frills place, clean. Very nice neighbourhood, plenty of cafes, restaurants, a park right in front of the hotel. My only problem was the noise. I had a "Master Suite", facing the street, and the noise coming from the street was uncomfortably loud. My stay would have been perfect otherwise.
“Could be a great hotel”
Besides the elevator not working, no internet for 2 days and no lock to the balcony, on the last evening at the hotel we returned to our room that night to find the door to our room wide open. Apparently, the maid forgot to close the door and also did not finish cleaning the room. Fortunately, nothing was missing but there was noone available to finish cleaning the room. No maid service after 4:30 p.m. Every time we tried to speak with someone in authority, no one was available and the people at the front desk were of no help. The positives: fantastic location, across from a small park, Condesa is a pleasant neighborhood (a cross between the upper west side and soho), close to 2 different subway lines and a terrific breakfast. The extra couple of dollars per night for the full breakfast was well worth it.
“Comfortable hotel, well located”
This is an hotel well located, in a busy but charming sector. It is not a luxury hotel but very comfortable with a kitchinette in the room. Ideal for long stay. The personal was very nice except for a new employee who did not know how to help us phone outside Mexico but acted as he knew it. Everything is easier if you can speak Spanish because de staff is not fluently bilingual. Something to be noted: the elevator has been out of service for the majority of our stay at the hotel. It was still not working when we left. Not very practical when your room is on the 4th floor and you have to carry your suitcases. The new chef was very creative at breakfast time to provide personalized menu. A good hotel but not sure if I would go back.
“Condesa”
For the price it is a great hotel in a very cool neighborhood.
