“Great location”

Characterful hotel just by the main shopping area, a stroll from the main St Sulphis Square which is beautiful, skip breakfast in the hotel which looked quite cramped, and go to the square, great, cheap breakfast overlooking the beautiful architecture and gates

“Hotel in a central location”

Positives: Very clean. Great building and good quality furniture and fittings. Helpful and friendly staff. Negitives: Can not see why it is rated 3 star as it has very few facilities. No private parking. No lounge or bar. No restaraunt Is more upmarket bed and breakfast accomodation than a proper hotel. A request for an egg for breakfast was refused, which should be included for the relatively high cost of breakfast (extra cost on top of room rate).

“Excellent hotel near centre of city.”

Probably not the best hotel for those with children looking for sports and swimming, this elegant hotel close to the historic world heritage site square is excellent for those keen to explore the city on foot. The hotel is an historic buillding, formerly the residence of the bishop, right by the cathedral. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms excellent. Rooms are not air conditioned; this was not a problem in May! There is no restaurant; the numerous restaurants of the city centre are within ten minutes walk.

“JUST THE TICKET!”

Very pleasent stop off hotel. Located perfectly for the square, shops and restaurants. Down side was limited parking and lack of air con in the room , however for a three star hotel couldn't complain as it was reasonably priced and very clean . Our room was at the front of the hotel and as the trams ran along the main road we had to leave the windows closed because of the noise , beyond this no complaints.

“Great location but mind the noise at night in the adjacent plaza”

The hotel has beautiful rooms in its "prestige" designations for the hotel. The less expensive rooms looked fairly ordinary. The bathroom and shower facilities were wonderful. Since my room faced the front of the hotel, onto the plaza next to the Cathedral, it got full afternoon sun and was unbearably hot during the summer days, even with the shutters closed. The hotel staff were helpful and polite, but the hotel did not even possess a wine bottle opener when we requested one (there were none in the rooms either), and a request for ice cubes produced a small bowl of three small cubes. Since the rooms don't have minibars or mini-fridges, it was hard to keep anything cold in the room. I had bought some local candies which melted in the heat, for instance. The proximity to Place Stanislaus in Nancy was wonderful; lots of good museums and restaurants are in walking distance. The Art Nouveau district was about 20-minute walk. I walked to the hotel from the train station as well.

“Great base from which to explore Nancy and Lorraine”

This is a high quality hotel with good service and an excellent location. For a visitor, its proximity to Stanislaus Square and the historic district of Nancy make it a great choice. Parking is very near the hotel and reasonably priced . The breakfast was good and the service was excellent. The hotel was quiet, felt safe, and comfortable. There are little quirks (heater/AC operation, small TV with few stations, very hot water (careful), no bathroom door (curious), no refrigerator, limited ice, no coffee maker) that make it different from a standard US hotel, but none of these was detracted from the overall experience. After all, we came here to experience new things.
