My son and I stayed a night. Check in time is 3:00. We arrived at 2:30 only to be told we'd have to wait. I've never had that happen. The girl was polite and friendly though. Anyway, went back at 3 and they had to call housekeeping to see if our room was ready. I'm sure it was ready at 2:30, they just didn't call.
Other than that, it was a good stay. My son did find something sticky on the wall though. I made him wash his hands and stay away from that wall.
We booked this hotel as an overnight lodge for our family vacation cruise. We initially booked 1 room for the 4 of us a month early. Upon arrival from driving for 8 hours, we were informed that the room was not available and that we had to wait. However, within 4-6 minutes they had made other arrangements that included us getting 2 rooms right next to one another for the price of one. Sooooooo the kids had a room to themselves and we had ours. Very clean, quiet, and safe area. We are planing another trip in a few months and plan to use this hotel again. Great southern hospitality!!!
It stayed there two nights and it was the pleasant stay overall. However, the cleaning staff were too diligent.
After the first night, they knocked down the door for cleaning around 8:30am and I told them to come back after an hour because we need more sleep. They knocked the door again around 9 and asked whether I need clean towels. I appreciate their diligence but if you do not want distruption you should put the sign early enough.
After the second night, we went down for the complementary breakfast around 9:30am which is until 10am. When we were there, the staff already remove the food and all we can eat was juice and coffee. Agian, too diligent.
Other than these, it was good.

I asked for a king bed with a rollaway I received 2 double beds instead. I asked for extra pillows and the lazy lady at the desk said no we do not have any without asking housekeeping. My room was claen and that was about the only good thing.

Room and lobby appeared to be recently renovated. Clean and nicely decorated. Could tell what fixtures hadn't been replaced (i.e. Tub and faucet) but they didn't impact the functionality or comfort of the room. We found New Orleans to be quite overwhelming and intimidating, this hotel felt like a nice, quiet and safe sanctuary. Its proximity to the airport was nice. Also plenty of food options and a large mall very near by. Was nice to have somewhere not far out of the way to hang out after check out before catching our flight.
Although the well-kept homes suggest that all is prim and proper, affluent Metairie has a wild side. Along with its drive-through daiquiri stands, Metairie’s Fat City rivals Bourbon Street’s bars and clubs. One of its main attractions, however, offers solitude and peace. Just outside the city limits, the Metairie Cemetery’s graceful marble tombs and statues make it one of world’s great cemeteries.
