Convenient hotel located halfway between Mestre train station and Venezia. Superior hotel facilities, but disapointing hotel staff. You can easily reach Venezia by taking a local bus (20 minutes trip + 10 minutes walk for bus stop), as well as the main train station in Mestre. This hotel is used by flight crews so don't expect an early check-in and be aware of rush hour at the front desk
Very convenient location right next to the train station for Venice. Multilingual staff are EXTREMELY helpful and friendly to assist with any requests or information. Rooms are not high luxury like in Venice but are well equipped and comfortable for travellers, and are very well kept and clean. Excellent breakfast bar
"Unexpected elegance and excellent dining experienc"
We loved the hotel, an 16tg century restored mansion/villa with nicely manicured greenery alongside a cute river.
The rooms were large and luxurious, overflowing with amenities comfort, the restaurant is what I would consider Michelin star rating as far as service and quality of the chef prepared works of art and great sommelier, with the beauty of dining in a top to bottom original frescoed hall, it's is a must stay if you're close to Venice and need to giro the airport on time without the hassle of taking boat ferries with luggage, especially if you have kids, which we did.
They were very accommodating to our child's needs, even giving us warm milk in a silver pitcher and desserts in the room. So good, and highly recommended, thank you hotel Barbarich!
"Convenient hotel ten minutes by train from Venice "
If you want a convenient hotel that is comfortable and directly across the street from the train station this one is a good choice. We chose not to stay in Venice proper but outside of Venice. The hotel rooms were large for Europe.
There were restaurants nearby as well as in the hotel. I had excellent salmon at the Soul Kitchen restaurant although the service for lunch was extremely rushed and then it took us a half hour to pay at the cash so we chose not to eat there a second time.
It was very easy to catch the train to Venice to do sight seeing and to continue on our travels. Included breakfast was decent and typical for other hotels in Italy we stayed at. Only major con was the wifi was awful with poor signal strength and cut in and out.
We stayed in the hotel for two nights, and it was overall a pretty good experience. Once we would wake up, we would go to the complementary breakfast (which was excellent), before heading out to Venice. We got help from the front desk in terms of how to bus around as well as ordering taxis, and Venice was easy to get to with their assistance. Getting back was pretty simple too. Checking in and out was quite quick too, and we certainly appreciated the wifi!
Excellent as a small private hotel but don't compare with big hotels!
Unfotunately, wifi was not working for whole two nights stay.
The young lady staff in the afternoon/evening time was so kind and helpful.
Northwest of Venice on the mainland, Mestre is often used by travelers as a base for exploring Venice and the Veneto. Piazza Ferretto, Mestre's pedestrian-friendly main square, includes cafes, shops, and the town's 12th-century watchtower. The Brenta Canal, famous for its elegant Palladian villas, empties into the lagoon next to Mestre and stretches to the historic university city of Padua.
