"Immaculate and stylish hotel away from the crowds"
Tip: This hotel is for those who are looking for a quality experience but don't have to be in the hubbub of Kalamata.
Our experience was remarkable as we just lucked into the hotel and found the hosts incredibly hospitable, eager to please and the hotel facilities amazing.
Their pool is one of the best we have seen in Greece and the stylish decor and furnishings are terrific, especially when the price of the hotel is factored into the equation. Breakfast was truly astonishing as well.
This is a FIVE!
The hotel is brand new, modern and perfectly clean.
Great pillows, matress etc. Beautiful bathroom.
Staff were very friendly, welcoming and discrete and responded swiftly to any requests. We have travelled a lot around the world, and I must say we were treated much better at the Horizon Blu than at other 5 star hotels elsewhere.
Let me just clarify that we stayed at this hotel in December, which is off season.
Overall, we spent a nice few days here, and would definitely love to come back.
We visited this hotel out of season. It was quiet but the view from the balconies is superb. All rooms have a sea view, loking across Messinian Bay towards Kalamata and the mountains. Hotel a bit noisy with school parties. Coffee in room would be nice.

Booked this hotel according to the Tripadvisor's info. Absolutely wonderful place. Personnel, room, even bedclothes! New and clean.
We arrived late, but receptionist was on duty and gave us 2 room apartment (we booked just twin beds). So, 2 rooms with 2 balconies and possibility to arrange drought.
The see view was just splendid! Pool is not big, but 3-4 people can feel comfortably swimming there (also pool for children adjoin).
The breakfast was standard, but good quality. Nothing super, but everything to be sated.
Huge parking lot (complimentary). Decent free Wi-Fi (though had broken next morning :))
All in all - highly recommended if you have a car.
If you are driving into town from the airport or Athens, follow the sign that says "beach", not the sign that says "center".
I stayed two times in Pharae Palace for only one night the first time and two the second time. Both were pleasant stays. This is an upscale hotel. The location looks over the waterfront. Sometimes there are motorcycles zooming up and down the street, to show off, and are very loud if you are sitting outside or have the door open. It was over quickly and it was not a problem for sleeping when the door was closed.
The staff was formal, but nice and helpful.
The parking along the street is not so great, but I found out on the second trip that there is a parking garage and they will give you a special opener to park in there.
The wifi in my rooms was great.
There is a nice bar up on the roof and you can sit outside as well. It is really beautiful up there. The breakfast buffet on the roof is magnificent!
To get to the "old" town, you will need to take a bus or taxi or else it is a long walk.

Pleasant hotel with lovely pool, but really wedding venue with rooms. It did have an accessible bathroom which was very good and the staff worked very hard to make our stay comfortable.
Sadly the breakfast buffet was mediocre the food at dinner was good, but lonely. The selection of Greek wines was good.
It was very useful as a stopover in Kalamata.
Irida Resort is set on the beautiful Ionian coast at Kalo Nero.
From the moment I arrived the family (Kostas, his wife Irini and two children and there staff) who run the hotel made me feel very welcome.
They helped me fulfil everything on my to do list!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate all their help, support and kindness.
The area is in a conservation area which means it is not overdeveloped and spoilt. Your are able to enjoy the natural beauty of the area but still within close proximity to lovely restaurants and bars and the nearby town of Kyparissia. I even got the chance to see some Hellonas (Turtles) not the protected sea turtles Caretta who's nests line the coast but some freshwater turtles! Magical!
Wish I could have stayed longer!

We stayed only one night---I wish it had been longer. The hotel is located across the street from a beach with calm, warm, clear water. The hotel provides lounge chairs and umbrellas (a must-have given the strong Grecian sun). The hotel has a restaurant but any restaurants are within walking distance.

Driving through the town we were skepticle about what to find at the Kleopatra Hotel. Even the sign for the hotel is older and could use a facelift.
Inside everything was new renovations, clean and the friendliest multi lingual person at the desk. Demitri did a great job getting us settled and recommended the local taverna for dinner which was delicious. They had the best Greek Salad that we had during our 10 days.
