“a charming hotel”

We stayed here with another couple and very much enjoyed our week here. We all had seaview rooms and enjoyed the central location. The owner has been running this place for 40 years and seemed to know everyone. The only downside is that there is no parking. The hotel does offer vouchers which cover 24 hours for 6Euros. At the weekend though, it was hard to find a space. Apart from that, we all enjoyed the eclectic mix of items to be found around the hotel, many maps and books on the shelves. I would definitely stay here again.

“Casa dolce Casa a Villa Mora”

Een heerlijk, klein gezellig Siciliaans hotel, met veel typische lokale kenmerken in het interieur, het steegje, veel brocante, soms met een flinke knipoog naar het verleden. De eigenaren zijn na 40 jaar nog steeds enthousiast en nemen de tijd voor hun gasten. Het hotel ligt ten midden van de boulevard aan zee, vrij rumoerig 's avonds maar dat hoort erbij, alles op loopafstand, ook de bushalte om richting Taormina te gaan. Goed ontbijt, hoewel elke dag hetzelfde. Omdat wij eerder in Giardini-Taormina gewoond en en gewerkt hebben voor een NLse touroperator kunnen wij zeggen dat deze prijs-kwaliteit-gastvrijheid verhouding uitstekend is. Onze 2pkamer was niet heel groot, maar voldoende comfort om er de nacht door te brengen. Balkon met zeezicht, prima badkamer. Een waar thuisgevoel. Zeker een aanrader en wij blijven hier terug komen, wij hoeven niets anders meer!

Area recommendations
Giardini Naxos - Recanati: restaurant La Spelonca, Porto Azuro, het restaurant van Lido Sayonara. Gambusa is duur en van mindere kwaliteit. De overige restaurantjes te toeristisch.. Barretjes Il Tartugo, Sikelia. Stranden: Lido Sayonara heeft onze voorkeur, relaxte sfeer, lekker eten, goeie mensen. Pirate Bay in Recanati; veel rustiger en ander soort strand dan aan de lungo mare. Taormina: Grieks Theater, de Corso, genoeg steegjes om doorheen te wandelen, neem de kleine straatjes vanaf de Corso naar beneden. Restaurant il Giardino naast het park. Met de auto: Siracusa, Catania, de Etna: Linguaglossa, Zafferana en Castiglione. Zuid en Noordkant zijn mooi. Vanaf Giardini zijn er voldoende excursies te maken met de SAT.
When to go
mei juni - sept okt juli en aug is echt te heet om iets te ondernemen en een gekkenhuis met de italianen die massaal in augustus naar Sicilië op vakantie gaan.

“Nettes Hotel in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Strand von Giardini-Naxos”

Bestes Hotel im Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis auf unserer Sizilienreise. Guter Ausgangspunkt nach Taomina, Ätna, Milazzo (Liparische Inseln) und nettes Badehotel (Liegen und Schirm am nahe gelegenen Strand oder am Strand der Isola Bella - Tipp! - für 10,-€ am Tag). Parkplätze (6,-€ am Tag) waren in der Vorsaison ausreichend vorhanden, könnten aber in der Hauptsaison sehr rar sein. Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Flaniermeile von Giardini-Naxos mit günstigen Bars und Restaurants.

“calme et vue sur mer”

si l'on est au dernier étage et côté mer, on a une belle vue sur toute la baie de giardini naxos (l'hotel n'est pas directement en front de mer mais juste derrière, d'où calme tout en étant à 30 m de la plage)

Traveller's tip
si vous rayonnez depuis naxos jusqu'à Syracuse, il faut absolument pousser jusqu'à NOTTO (au sud de syracuse) qui est une ville aux monuments exceptionnels et sous-côtée dans les guides (2 étoiles seulement)
