“Beautiful view, best breakfast in Sicily”
Our junior suite at Villa Carlotta had a fabulous view of the ocean and hillside. It was clean, spacious, elegant, and very comfortable. The room was heated for our November stay and this was great since it was rainy and very windy during some of our visit. The staff spoke English and were very welcoming. They gave us a glass of wine upon arrival and orientation to Taormina. The hotel dining room is on the top floor with views of the sea, town, and Mt Etna. It had the best breakfast buffet of all the places we stayed in Sicily. We ate dinner at the hotel one night but, since it was off-season, the main dishes were not optimal. The hotel is easily accessed by car by driving up Via L. Pirandello from SS114 to avoid driving through Taormina itself. The hotel will park your car for a fee and we advise this to avoid a long hike from the available parking lots. The only drawback to the hotel is that it is about a 10 minute level walk into the main shopping/restaurant area of Taormina, along a street with a narrow sidewalk and mostly closed buildings. Again, this was off season, so there may be more activity along the street at other times of the year. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
“Taormina gem”
Really enjoyed our short break in this very welcoming hotel. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. We appreciated little touches like complimentary tea and cake set out in the restaurant to help yourself to every afternoon. Restaurant is on top with a terrace giving marvellous views fo the sea and Etna whilst enjoying the delicious breakfast. The site - like all except the mega-expensive hotels in Taormina - is rather cramped but they've fitted in enough garden and seating around the small pool to provide a pleasant break after sightseeing. We had a junior suite with garden view - this was reasonably spacious though the layout not the most convenient. eg the sitting area didn't have any small table to put things on and the sofa nearly blocked access to the mirror, but these were pretty minor drawbacks. We found the location ideal - far enough from the town centre to be quiet, but an easy 10 minute walk in. You can also walk down a path to the shore which ends up at a beautiful bay between Isola Bella and another headland - lots of steps, but the cable car terminal is nearby for an easy way up to the town centre.
“Excellent hotel”
After a very friendly welcome on arrival, our 4 day stay was superb. Villa Carlotta is a nicely located hotel overlooking the sea, and near Taormina. We were able to walk into Taormina to sightsee and enjoy the local cuisine. An ideal place for a short break.
“AN AMAZING HOTEL IN A TERRIFIC LOCATION!!”
We got a suite with a sea view and a terrace, so the price wasn't cheap - but we must say, it was worth it! Our terrace was the size and feeling of a patio at home - large, diverse flora, comfy furniture - not something one would expect at a hotel. The accomodations were comfortable and had great style. But the top floor / lounge, dining area was the "piece de resistance": look to one side and see the Ionian sea, and to the other and see snow capped Mt. Etna. Breakfast was as good as it gets, and appointed beautifully. I can't say enough about the staff - sometimes one can forget that they're hired help. We took a taxi to the highest point in town, did our sightseeing /eating / shopping and then walked home - that was our ritual, twice daily. Also, one afternoon we hired a guide and did the "Godfather tour" - so much fun! There's also a swimming pool with various places to lounge around it. And, lastly, they even have their own ruins on the property (although don't expect another Roman Theater). I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was really special.
“Spectacular 1st stop of our trip !!”
We were greeted with a very warm welcome at Villa Carlotta . My husband andI took my mom to Sicily for her 75th birthday . Her parents were both born there and she had never been there. We visited several towns including where my grandparents were born . The entire trip was very special . Our first stop was in Taormina and we stayed at Villa Carlotta . I had emailed Riccardo ahead of time to tell them that we were celebrating mom's birthday in her grandparents home country . We had a wonderful room, and when we arrived they had a birthday cake and champagne waiting for us . We ate the cake on their beautiful breakfast terrace. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding , it would turn out to be the best breakfast that we had our entire trip . It was loaded w/ items and everything was incredibly delicious !!! We were sorry to leave and would definitely return to Villa Carlotta .

Great decorations specially the silver ceramic head at the bar. Excelence service and modern rooms but keeping the old villa style in the outside. Quiet and very clean in all aspects.
“Sehr gute Adresse in Taormina mit Blick auf den Ätna”
Wir haben uns in der Villa Carlotta sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Eigentümer sowie das ganze Personal sind sehr um den Gast bemüht und geben einem das Gefühl bei Freunden zu sein. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist für italienische Verhältnisse hervorragend, täglich frisches Obst, wechselndes Kuchenbuffet, diverse Säfte, stilles und kohlensäurehaltiges Mineralwasser, Antipasti, Schinken, Wurst, Käse, diverse Eierspeisen, Cerealien etc. Die Säfte sind allerdings sehr süss. Natürlich auch typische italienische Kaffeespezialitäten, verschiedene Teesorten (vorwiegend Schwarz- und Grüntee) und heiße Schokolade. Bei Ankunft gab es für uns als Begrüßungsgetränk Prosecco. WLAN auch im Gartenzimmer verfügbar. Das vom Hotel angebotene Valet-Parking ist empfehlenswert, da in Taormina bis auf die beiden Parkhäuser so gut wie keine legalen Parkplätze vorhanden sind. Das Personal spricht sehr gut Englisch und hilft bei Bedarf auch gern bei der Ausflugsplanung.
