“Sirius Hotel, Taormina”

A fantastic hotel in a great location. Friendly and very helpful staff. Thouroughly recommended.

“A comfortable hotel close to the town centre”

A decent hotel about 10 mins walk from the central tourist street. Limited parking but the hotel will help to fit your car into the extremely small car park.

“Great View; Shelted From the Crowds”

The hotel is only a few minutes' walk from the historic center of Taormina. Many rooms have a terrace and/or a sea view. The room and common areas were very clean, and beautiful views of the sea were easy to come by. The only drawback, depending on a person's physical capacities, is the walk up/down a fairly steep (though short) driveway to leave/access the hotel. The fact that the hotel is a short stroll from the center of town keep the noise levels down.

“Comfortable hotel with great views”

Very convenient location - 2 min walk from bus stop, and 5-7 min from center of town. Very clean. Lovely views from terrace.

“If you are not on a budget, pick up a more expansive hotel.”

The receptionists were very polite and helpful, but you cannot expect anything else from the room but basic comfort. In France a 4 star hotel means exactly 4 star service, but in Italy it corresponds to 3 stars maximum. Breakfast was unfortunately very poor. I travelled a lot in Europe and was expecting a better food but ... That's how it is. The parking space was very limited, so if you do plan to stay at this hotel notify them in advance about your car.

“A friendly welcome”

At the Hotel Sirius you will get a warm, friendly welcome. The hotel is situated about 5mins walk away from the main part of Taormina, it is on a steel slope which is good if you want to tone up those glute muscles, (bottom)! The hotel has its own pool which is quite a good size and depth. There is a pool bar which serves a few simple dishes, pizza, salad, etc. They also do freshly squeezed orange juice which is really yummy. Taormina is a pretty town, with plenty of shops, resturants and bars. It is built into the side of a cliff, so it would not be suitable for older people (unless super fit) or people with pushchairs, as there are lots of steps and hills. When dining out in Taormina, try and go somewhere off the main road. The resturants here are much better. There is a cable car down to the beach which takes around 10mins, and only 3mins walk from the hotel. The beach is shingles and pebbles and there are a few resturants and bars here. There are plenty of sunbeds to lie on, which you need to pay for. I would definately go back to Taormina, it is such a pretty and historical town. There is the Ampitheatre which you can also go and look at as well as the obligitory churches and chaples etc.

“Hotel Sirius perfect getaway in beatiful Taormina”

Just outside the city center of Taormina but at a short (8 min) and rather steep! walking distance from the main highlights of the town. Taormina is a nice middle size town where you will have a good combination of Sicilian life and touristic settings. Has a fantastic view from almost all sides and has different terrasses where guests can enjoy the view and the rest and peace. The hotel is perfectly located if you want to visit Sicily, i.e. Catania only 45 min drive away, Cefalu around 2 hrs, Piazza Armarina 1.5 hrs. The rooms are fine and are equipped with all necisities and all have a small terras or balcony (not all with perfect view). Rooms can be a bit noisy. Private guarded parking available. Breakfast is average. Hotel has a bar but for nice evening drinks would recommend to stay in town. Also for lunch and dinner the high variety of restaurants will give everybody the real Sicilian taste. Long evenings at the terras/ bar is only possible until exact 23h00. Also swimming pool is exactly open from 10-18. Might be different during high season. Hotel Sirius is a great getaway if you want to combine leasure, pleasure and Sicilian pieces of history. The hotel breaths history, bit old fashioned and very hospital staff. The hotel is mainly visited by guests who explore the island and its highlights. Less for just leisure and staying at the swimming pool.

“Ruhige Lage”

Das Hotel Sirius hat eine ruhige Lage und liegt doch nicht weit von der Altstadt erfernt. Von der Hotelterasse hat man eine wunderschöne Sicht über die Küste. Die Zimmer haben jedoch nicht alle diese schöne Sicht.

“Hotel Sirius een centrale plek”

Hotel Sirius is perfect gelegen, vlakbij de kabelbaan direct naar het strand, vlakbij het mooie centrum van Taormina en direct om de hoek is het centrale busstation te vinden. Een betere ligging tegen het centrum van Taormina aan is er bijna niet. Helaas zul je wel op het publieke gedeelte van het strand om een goed plekje moeten vechten, maar écht overvol is het sowieso niet. De strandjes van Taormina zijn bovendien klein en grotendeels bezet door de hotels direct aan het strand. Voor een groot strand zul je naar Letojanni of Giardini Naxos moeten gaan. Het onbijtbuffet is gewoon goed in het Sirius hotel. Er is gelukkig geen engels ontbijt maar een normaal gevarieerd buffet. Bovendien is de koffie erg lekker (overal wel in Italië). De kamers zijn gewoon comfortabel, netjes en vooral schoon! Wij hadden wel een kleine douche voor een 4 sterren hotel. Ik weet niet of dat voor het hele hotel geldt, maar in Italië schijnt dat wel vaker voor te komen.
