“We Would Definitely Return”

The Hotel Mediterranee is located close to the centre of Taormina - easily reached on foot - and has fantastic views of Mount Etna and the sea. The rooms are modest but perfectly clean and good-sized balconies (just be sure to book a room with a sea view). There is a no-frills, retro feel to it and the bed wasn't the most comfortable but we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would definitely go back. The pool - despite an apparent lack of chlorine - was a great amenity to have but the water was rather cold! The breakfast buffet was average but the staff were very friendly and overall it was good value for money. The 60's fixtures and fittings will amuse you or remind you of your childhood - depending on your age!

“Exceptional, unforgettable views”

Hotel boasts exceptional views over the bay and Mount Etna! Continental breakfast is served on a beautiful balcony bordered with blooming lush pink flowers. There is a pool at the back, which looked good but we did not use, as it is closed by 7pm (though the sun is still high in the sky). Staff were pleasant and generally helpful all with excellent English. The hotel is well located to explore Taormina, Giardini Naxos, the Greek Theatre, Etna and the beautiful beaches of Mazzaro. Yes, there are steep steps to reach the hotel from the main town, but they are not arduous and given the entire town is perched on a cliff, there really is nowhere that is not uphill. Relatively easy to reach the bus station and cable car and hotel provides a map with tips and recommended sites to see. Hotel was clean and good value for money - a great base from which to explore the beautiful, albeit relatively expensive town of Taormina.

“Obsolète.”

Chambres sont sonores à souhait, matelas sans alèze et petit déjeuner de mauvaise qualité. Quant à la piscine, elle aura été trouble pendant une semaine.

“C'est dommage !”

Excellente situation à 5 mn à pieds du centre de Taormina... Cet hotel a tout pour lui, l'emplacement, le parking gratuit, la propreté, l'amabilité du personnel, la piscine, la vue mer et sur l'Etna... Les chambres sont correctes avec grand balcon ou terrasse (supp. 20 €/j), un petit voire grand côté rétro... Mais surtout une salle de restaurant "exceptionnelle"... Nous avions choisi la demi-pension et... nous sommes retrouvés seuls à table le soir pendant 2 semaines... Nous avions un cuisinier et un serveur à notre disposition et ses "mama mia" ne suffisaient pas à égayer la salle... Un peu tristounet et déprimant quand même... Bref, c'est un bon hotel de passage pour 2 ou 3 jours que nous ne conseillons pas en séjour.

“vetuste mais tout le reste est OK. Bon rapport qualité-prix”

Bon accueil, le service du restaurant, du bar, des chambres est impeccable. L'hotel a besoin d'un coup de rajeunissement, mais c'est souvent le cas en italie. Piscine agréable avec chaises longues . L'accès Wifi internet est gratuit, mais seulement depuis le salon, pas dans les chambres. Situation idéale. Accès aux rues piétones de Taormine en 5 mn à pied. Catane et Messine à moins de 50km et Syracuse à 75km, le tout possible par autoroute ( accès à Taormine) Beaucoup de restaurants, boutiques et quelques vestiges à visiter sur place dont un théatre grec.

Hotel in ottima posizione con vista stupenda. Camere assolutamente non da hotel 4 stelle, piccole con arredamenti molto modesti ed antiquati, bagno molto piccolo scomodo e molto vecchio, sicuramente i sanitari e i rubinetti hanno la mia stessa età(60anni). Però si trova in una posizione invidiabile per la veduta spettacolare e dell'etna e delle meravigliose insenature sottostanti. Personale molto gentile e premuroso.

“Eine traumhafte Lage.”

Die Lage und der Fensterblick sind grandious. Das Personal sehr freundlich und mehrsprachig. Die Zimmerausstattung und das Bad sind mindestens 30 Jahre alt. Das Bad ist extrem klein. Das Essen im Hotelrestaurant ist sehr gut. Das Hotel stellt den Gästen kostenlose Parkplätze zur Verfügung. Das Hotel besitzt eine sehr schöne Gartenanlage mit einem relativ großen und schönen Pool.
