“Great View”

Make sure you ask for a balcony room- the view is the best hinkg about this hotel. The staff are lovely very helpful. This hotel is down by the sea-but not far enough from the town. You can walk 5 minutes to he cable car that brings you straight into the town. Nice breakfast.

“Great location”

Beautiful setting in maybe the nicest bit of Taormina. Some good restaurants and cafes nearby, and there is a nearby cable car link to the main town, which has many more facilities - but the location of Isola Bella on the coast is fantastic. Good service and very reasonable facilities for the cost - the pool is excellent, breakfast is very good and included. Only two criticisms- the staff don't all speak English but are very helpful (assuming you can get the point across), and there is no pavement on the road, which can at times be busy - however, this isn't unusual for Sicily! We would definitely go back.

“Isola Bella a Wonderful hotel for the price”

my husbI and and loved our stay at Hotel Isola Bella. The staff was wonderful and tried to make our stay there as comfortable as possible. The view was incredible and the location was just perfect to take the tram up to the center of Taromina. The room was very clean and the cleaning staff were exceptional. The breakfast was so good I'm missing the prosuitto every day since we've been home. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Larry and Barbara Middletown, Ct. USA

“Million dollar view”

Stayed for 2 weeks. Good older hotel with friendly hard working staff. The 5 plus minute walk to the funicular was great after all the great food we ate in Taormina. Read other reviews and comments about the traffic & trains; there is a 5 star hotel less then 1/4 mile away and it has the same traffic and trains. When in Taormina enjoy Taormina. If we are lucky enough to get back to Taormina we will stay at this hotel.

“Perfect hotel in Taormina”

Hotel Isola Bella was perfect for my stay in Taormina. It was right by the beach and close to the cable cars to go up to the main city of Taormina. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and there was a great atmosphere. Breakfast was very good (best in all my travels in Italy) and there was alot to choose from. I was traveling solo so i had a single room which was a little small but perfect for what i needed. Tiniest shower ever, but hey, that's Italy. I had a balcony overlooking the sea and air conditioning that worked extremely well! Also, all the excursions (Mt. Etna and Aeolian Islands) i wanted to go on, and more, were available right from the hotel. I loved my trip to Taormina and the hotel and location was just perfect for me. Great memories and would definitely go back!

“10 out of 10! excellente and fantastico!!!”

We have missed our planes on our way to Sicily and when we got to the hotel and found out that just by chance, they've put us in the nicest room! we just thought "ok, this makes up for it!" The room we had has a huge terrace, the front facing to the beautiful sea and beach and the back facing to the hill with lemon trees and cactus and the hotel swimming pool. It couldnt have been better. We had candle lit dinner (it was our honeymoon!) with pizza and bottle of wine at the balcony and the moon was shinning onto the sea, it was all so romantic!! the room itself is pretty basic but if anyone complain they should have booked a 5 stars hotel and stop moaning because they expected they would get more than what they paid for. The staff were extremely helpful and smiley. We stayed for a week and our room were cleaned perfectly and fresh towels everyday. Breakfast was very good. On street parking was free. It was hard to find parking space when we first arrived but I think the time of the day is a big factor because I reckon lots of other cars parked up during the day then people go to the beach, so if you have a rental car and drive away for a day, try to come back after 6pm or 7pm then it's a lot easier to find a parking space closer to the hotel. My husband and I love this hotel so much we are planning to go back for our anniversary!

“an ok hotel for the price”

Isola Bella is a nice hotel for the money; some good points: great, clean pool, nice breakfast; free van to wonderful beach; front hotel views are lovely, overlooking the island of Isola Bella the down side is that the hotel is on a major road --hard to walk and could be dangerous; the rooms are small; you need to take the cable cars up to Taormina.

“Isola Bella - July 2010”

The location can't be beat. The hotel is directly in front of Isola Bella Island, which is gorgeous. The views from the sea side room balconies face Isola Bella directly and was totally unforgettable. I wanted to spend every moment at the hotel on my balcony. Now the actual hotel is pretty plain. Very clean, Sicilians take great pride in cleaning. The breakfast was not a full menu breakfast, however, it was tasty and filling. My only gripe, very hard beds! I like a firm bed, but their beds were almost unsleepable. Both nights were tough for me to sleep due to the board like beds.

“View was great, but room was sub-par”

We had an excellent view from our hotel of the Isola Bella from one of our 2 balconies. However, the bed was not comfortable and the sheets were like cardboard paper. I suggest to the hotel, if you are going to sell someone a room with a king-sized bed for their honeymoon, get a kingsized bed...not two twins pushed together, that keep sliding apart all night long. It did have an amazing view and that is why I said I would recomend it to others. The breakfast wasn't too bad either for Italy standards. The free internet was a great plus as well!!
