15 minutes walk to central Christchurch; but close to bars and restaurants and essential shops. Spacious and comfortable hotel with apartments attached in separate block; 3 bedrooms.
Staff helpful and friendly; amenities good.

We stayed here for 3 nights during a busy time in Christchurch (due to the cricket world cup). We cooked in the unit one night and although there wasn't a hot plate or saucepan in the room, the staff quickly found some to lend us. The kitchenette was otherwise well stocked, including a cafetiere.
It is an easy walk into the city and also handy for getting out to the airport.
We stayed two times at this hotel while in Christchurch. Extremely pleased with the room, very clean, spacious and comfortable. It felt like being at home. The best part of our experience was with Mary, the hotel manager. Mary is a gem! She let me use her washing machine to do laundry and let me use the clothes line in order for them to dry. When we arrived a bit on our second stay she was extremely understanding. She really made us feel at home. This hotel is a great value for the money!
It was great to find out our room had been upgraded. However, it didn't seem to be too busy but our room was upstairs at back building. With children, lots of bags and off a TAXI, not our own or rental veh to leave some things in, was a bit of a mission. In the morning it was rainning and it didn't get any easier or more pleasent for one night stay only.
I have advised late check in and very early chck out as we were catching train to Greymouth.
I would recommend people in this circunmstances to be allocated in a more in-and-out friendly manner.
The staff could not be nicer and were very accommodating. They went out of their way to address any questions and provide any help I needed. The room was clean except the carpets were not in the best condition. Shoes a must!
