Room recently updated and new bathroom. Comfortable environment.
As the room and bathroom had been recently refurbished the shower wasn't functioning correctly. Other than that would recommend.
ask if the shower is fixed if you get room 3.

10-20min walk away from city centre along the canal. Very handy Morrisons corner shop nearby. Rooms were hotel like... Clean, big, comfy bed and large bathroom cleaned daily. All amenities provided and breakfast was good. On the first morning it was only warm (impeding because they cooked mine second to my partner), however after specifying the exact breakfast I wanted on the second day, it improved vastly.

We arrived around noon and check-in was a breeze. There was only one minor problem: the hotel advertised free parking. However, when we arrived, the owner stated that parking was 10 pounds per day. When I showed him a print-out of the ad, stating free parking, he immediately let us use the parking space in front of the hotel. The room was on the second floor (or 1st floor for Europeans) facing the back yard. It was small, but all we needed. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to turn on the shower - there is a switch outside the room that needs to be turned on.
Breakfast was pretty good; cereals, breads, and jams were offered as a buffet and eggs, sausages, bacon, etc. was cooked on demand.
The hotel was comfortable if you only need the basics. We didn't have any problems and would stay there again.

Very friendly staff, they upgraded us to the apartment at no charge which was greatly appreciated. Had a full kitchen and wash machine. Was only a short walk from the centre of the city. Paid £5 for full Scottish breakfast. Also had free wifi which was great! Would stay here again!
