Hot breakfast was cold every morning, even when we were first in the line at 7.30am. Continuous dripping of water in the toilet and the random flushing was unnerving. Unable to secure a sunbed around the pool on day 1, despite us being guests?! Book your taxi on the day because it cost us €70 each way but the hotel wanted to charge €120. Bit disappointing on the whole.

Lagos resort was perfect for a couples holiday - we had a suite which had a terrace and large kitchen area too. Lovely staff, good facilities (gym, spa, pool and pool restaurant). They even put the woman’s World Cup final on for everyone to watch. Would recommend as a hotel if people want to stay in that area. Only thing to point out is the marina area lets down the atmosphere a little. It’s great if you want a quick/cheap dinner but outside of the hotel restaurants there’s not to much going on (no late bars or finer restaurants). Also the main Cala en Bosch beach is super busy so you need to get down there early for a sun lounger. However, it’s a quick 30 minute bus /10 min taxi into main Cittadella which has a lovely atmosphere and lots of great restaurant bars.

We liked the hotel room, the pool area and bar and the restaurant but our room backed on to a large hotel across the road which had very loud music/entertainment every evening which we could hear clearly which was quite annoying when trying to sleep

Overall pretty great!
We had a great stay at Casas del Lago and overall really enjoyed our time there, we’d definitely go back. We were in a ‘Deluxe Room Terrace Marina View’. We knew this would be quite small but the Hotels.com description doesn’t make it clear that the bathroom isn’t separate - only the toilet. The shower and sink area are in the bedroom. I know this open-plan style saves space but personally I don’t like it - I would have booked a different room if I’d realised. There were a few niggles - the room needs a shelf in the shower, and one under the basin to store wash bags. There are a few mirrors but none of them is in the right place to sit in the chair and do your hair/makeup and there’s no full-length mirror so you can’t ever see your whole outfit including shoes - this is a place where they are encouraging Instagram posts everywhere, so I was surprised by that! We stayed in a compact room in another hotel on Menorca during this trip, and it had all those things, so it should be possible in a small space. The fridge barely made things cold. The staff in the restaurant and beach club were so helpful and nice! The reception team were less friendly and on the one day our room didn’t get cleaned, nobody apologized - they acted like I was kind of a pain for asking for somebody to take away our rubbish. Pool area is fab and we upgraded to a shady cabana which I really recommend - so comfortable! We loved exploring Menorca and the hotel made a perfect base.

The staff were quite rude, unattentive, and not very helpful. There were no windows in the room, the door was fiddly and there was a hotel nearby with very loud children's entertainment. The sunbeds were an extra 40 EUR per day.

Lago Resort is situated right at the marina, it has a great wiev over the yachts, and bars and restaurants around it. It is 3 minutes walk from a beach and bust stop (from which you can go to Ciutadella is just net to the hotel). Food is very good and varied, staff is friendly and generally helpful. The hotel lacks identity though, it partly tries to be a cool place with house music, funk, etc. DJ (excellent by the way) around the pool and then bingo in the evening. There is some wear and tear signs on it and it feels that it's slightly past its glory but it is still the coolest place in Cala'n Bosch. I think the building site next door didn't help but hopefully, that will be finished next season. One thing I found slightly uncomfortable was a sense that some staff was focused on just getting money off you. The evening entertainment was advertised using prices before tax; staff was keen to take payment to rent the kayak but disappeared when asked about the equipment. Overall, despite some minor issues, it is a lovely hotel and I would go there again.

The hotel was very contemporary. Extremely clean ane welcoming. The staff were superb and so helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in a long time. So much choice and all really fresh. Freshly squeezed orange juice was very nice. So many healthy choices.

Fantastic location overlooking the harbour and a couple of minutes walk from the beach. Hotel is modern, airy and has been stylishly designed. Our room was generous in size (more of a mini apartment) and had a private area at both front and rear for sunbathing or relaxing with a drink. Plenty of sunbeds, but these could do with a bit of a clean to maintain the 4* rating. Unfortunately, noisy building work from site next door- hopefully will have been completed for 2020 season-but worth checking if a quiet time by the pool is important to you. We felt the service from staff was generally poor (perhaps they were getting a bit de-mob happy as we stayed towards end of season), but daily room cleaning was missed, staff not interested in clearing up broken glass and failure to provide a booked picnic breakfast due to an early departure on our last morning was treated with a shrug of the shoulders. Disappointing really -more like Fawlty Towers than 4-Star!

The Hotel was perfectly situated for not only the beach, but the Marina with a fabulous selection of restaurants. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with superb breakfast facilities, and great poolside bar. The only downside was we could not get into our room until 3.30pm on the first day. We were also woken at 6am every morning with what sounded like furniture being dragged across the floor from what was we thought a storage area above our room. The staff were pleasant and helpful, a good find as long as you do not mind the 50 minute run from the airport and a Taxi Fare of €70 each way.

I was ripped off
Unfortunately I was unlucky enough to be put in room 102. A “marina view” room, with nothing “marina” about it. When we complained to staff, they said ‘yes we know the room, and we know it isn’t good, but it is peak season so there are no other rooms available and we can’t move you or do anything about it’. It was only after constant complaining for two days that they looked hard enough and discovered another room was actually available to move us. No apologies, nothing! So I paid for two nights of a premium room for nothing - I call this theft. They shouldn’t advertise/sell this room as marina view at all. It’s a shame because the hotel was ok otherwise, and the good rooms were nice enough. I think I was just unlucky to receive the worst room, and then some terrible service as wel.
