“Excellent hotel, not the best location for downtown Memphis”

The hotel is relatively new, approx 8 - 10 years and is excellent. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, however, without a hire car it cost us $35 dollars (October 2011) one way to travel to downtown Memphis. I must also point out that the taxi service used by the hotel was excellent and John who drove us for our entire holiday, gave us a guided tour at no extra cost, nothing was to much trouble for him. I would still recommend this hotel, it is only about 10 - 15 mins from the airport, but the approx 30 minute journey time and the cost of taxi's to Memphis should be considered.

Dining
We travelled to Memphis for my 50th Birthday and I trawled the internet looking for a suitable restaurant for the big day!. I found a restaurant called Flight and I can't recommend it highly enough. It was quite expensive, concept restaurant, but the food was wonderful. It was very popular with the locals, who we spoke to at the bar, be prepared to be impressed!!!

“the matress hurt & the pool was too shallow”

I never slept a wink registration desk not friendly pool for children commuter traffic & NCAA football to be avoided close to restaurants & Graceland in Memphis

“We will stay here again.”

The hotel was very clean and the front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. We love that the hotel is next to lots of great shopping and restaurants. We were concerned that parking at the hotel was limited and we had to park a great distance from the front of the hotel. We were concerned about the safety of our car, but were assured they had security watching the lot. The only other negative was the cost of breakfast in the hotel lobby and the service there. You have the option of a cold breakfast of muffins, pastries, cereal, etc. that you get yourself or a hot breakfast you order from a waitress. The hot bar is visible and partly accessible but there is nothing to tell you to be seated in order to order the hot food. The waitress we had was very nice and friendly and did the best she could. However, there were many tables filled with people and she was the only one waiting on everyone. My hot breakfast order was not correct due to the cook, not the waitress, and it took a long time. I did not fault the waitress and saw the cook giving her a hard time. I tipped her really well. Breakfast for two cost us $20.00 plus tax and tip. Next time we will probably go to McDonalds for breakfast. Otherwise we loved the hotel. It is located near where we lived previously so we will likely stay there again.

Southaven and surrounding areas in Desoto County, MS are nice and relatively safe.

“Vist Graceland via HIlton Gradens”

Our visit at Hilton Gardens was perfect. Great loacation, shopping, and plenty of eateries to choose from. It is close to Graceland and downtime Memphis. This is a very nice area, clean and light traffic.

Area recommendations
Visit Graceland in the early morning - 9:00am- 10:00am start. Will take about 2-3 hrs pending on how much you purchase to see or shop . Visit Beale St. - eat Rib's, tour the Art shops. Just take in the odl downtown Memphis area.

“Great hotel”

We loved this hotel! It was near several stores and restaurants and 15 mins. from Memphis. Our room was squeaky clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was extremely clean and I'm crazy about cleanliness. The indoor pool was nice. We ate breakfast here and found it was quick and affordable. They had something for everyone to eat. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Memphis!

Traveller's tip
You have to visit Mud Island while in Memphis. The model of the Mississippi River is awesome! Everyone will love walking it and visiting the river museum.
