We stayed at the maritim hotel in mellieha for six nights in July. Whilst we have no major grumbles there were a few minor issues during our stay. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory; ham , cheese, croissants, yoghurt, fruits etc however the hot option was dreadful. We had a village view and stayed in room 404, we had a partial view of the local church and over looked a quiet street not the main road which was a bonus. Make sure when you book a room with a view you asked questions about the position of your balcony, some rooms located in wing A over look a busy main road. To get to our room we had to go to level one in the main hotel then walk through a rather foul smelling tunnel which took us to the hotel annex found across the road from the main hotel. The bathroom door in our room was made of glass which you could see through , there was also a one cm gap around the door when closed, hence no privacy when using toilet! I had to keep asking my son to go onto the balcony when I needed to use the bathroom, this was unacceptable. Positives were the hotel restuarants served very good food at reasonable prices, house keeping was good and nice ambiance throughout hotel. Lovely views from roof terrace which houses a lovely Thai restuarants serving lovely food. Would I stay again? Yes however I would choose my room carefully.
After long tiring journey would have liked a better welcome instead of having to move to another hotel. We accepted the circumstances and resolved to move then to be told 'its only 5 minutes walk away'. We asked for a cab, which was provided. Then we were told we would have to move back to original hotel the next day. This spoilt the first day of our break as we couldn't relax and unpack. Never mind after this all was well. Room was clean and adequate although the view wasn't as good as 1st hotel (which is why we wanted to remain there). Bed was so hard and uncomfortable and the room was next to an electricity generator so kept us awake (1405). Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful facilities good. We didn't try evening food but prices looked ok. Situation on a steep hill but bus stop right opposite and i would recommend getting the weekly bus tickets very good deal €6.40 and takes you anywhere on the island.

My family and I stayed at The Ramla Bay hotel recently and from the time of arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff both day and night. The food is varied and of great quality with lots of different places to eat if on half board or B&B within the resort or a short walk away. Everyone involved in the hotel couldn't do enough to try and make our stay as fun, easy and enjoyable as possible including the ladies that service the rooms, the restaurant staff and the Animation entertainers (who are all just LOVELY!!!) and the lady who arranges transport - all most helpful. Even on the beach, all the staff there got umbrellas, helped you put them in the right place, cleared the beach of rubbish and even advised when too many jellyfish to stop the guests being stung!! :) We all had a wonderful time so thank you all.

Hotel was great, clean and comfortable. The staff have poor customer service. Anything you ask is an effort. No smiles no "hello how may I help you"
The bar staff sit in groups and make you feel intimidated, they again do not rush to serve you. The staff let down a great hotel.
Stayed here whilst Diving with GoDive Malta, based just down the road. John was really helpful with anything I needed or any questions I had. Rooms are really cleaned and reasonably priced. The hotel is really conveniently located, in walking distance of everything I wanted. Would definitely stay here again.
Mellieha Bay boasts the largest sandy beach in Malta, with a golden arc of gently shelving sand providing family-friendly bathing. All the usual water sports are on offer here, and there are further beaches close by. Set high on a hill above is the traditional old town, largely unaffected by the bustle below and with a very fine church. In summer the beaches are crowded and on weekends long traffic jams occur.
