Didn't want to stay in coty

Pleasant start to night, but didn't wise up to notice outside advertising karaoke night. Noisy night as room right above and a lot of disturbance on street at2am when bar shut .

Booked the Kings Arms from my Hotels.com mobile phone app at the last minute as away on business and it was rather late. Absolutely loved the place. Great deal. Great, huge, quiet room with a well appointed bathroom, and a fantastic quality breakfast. Look no further.

All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Lovely homemade soup. Great breakfast, even added vegetarian sausages which were not on the menu!

Ok, but attention to detail is required.

The location is fine. The room was spacious, but lacked any thought to general repairs, as there was a knob missing off the wardrobe door, the plug socket casing was coming away (considered dangerous), the bathroom was like a cloakroom and we both couldn't use it at the same time. Very small shower cubicle too. Bed was ok. Room is considered to be noisy, as we heard the next room talking about what they were planning to do that day, so if you want a quiet room then avoid. The breakfast service wasn't anything to rave about. Had to ask for tea/coffee as we had waited 20 mins. Orange juice ran out and wasn't refilled. Cooked breakfast was ok. The restaurant was fine, not lots I choice but the usual pub fare. There are other hotels in the area so probably wouldn't stay again.

Was close to relatives so well positioned.

Pros: Central position. lively bar and resuarant. Individual rooms.
Cons: Communication with customer before arrival would be good.
Location: Melksham is in the Cotswolds so there's plenty of to visit. Lacock is only a few miles away. It is an old town unspoilt by the modern world.
Asked for blankets instead of a quilt. I never got a reply so took my own, it was good job I did. There was no mention of it. Breakfast was good but had to ask for tea and coffee though. Nice stay, would stay again as it's close to where we want to be.
