Nice little place near the town

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Got a warm welcome from one of the owners. Room was in the stable block. The good: Comfy (single) bed Delicious breakfast Friendly staff Good location Quiet at night so good nights sleep The not so good: Shower temperature control didn't work so well so the shower was baking hot For the money room was a little on the small side I think £45 per night would have been a more reasonable price.

Basic

The room was a single bed in a very small 'motel' style room. For the price I paid, this was not good value for money. I didn't eat in the restaurant, and didn't have breakfast.

The room I had was nice and comfortable. A little noisy from the road outside but I think this may have been caused because some of the windows didn't close fully as there were plants growing through them. The room was nicely decorated and had everything I needed. The food in this hotel was excellent and the service very friendly and welcoming.

The owners of this quaint hotel are so warm & welcoming it was lovely. We only had breakfast at the hotel as we were visiting for a wedding but that was lovely. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Lovely old house, within walking distance of town.

Pros: The food and the owners.
Cons: A stand up shower would be nice.
Location: Very pretty towns and villages nearby plus National Trust properties to visit. Bradford on Avon and Lacock are a must.
Very welcoming owners who can't do enough for you. Roomy, comfortable room but beware the bathroom if you have trouble with steps! First class food cooked freshly, the sticky toffee pudding is to die for. If in that area again would return.

Quaint

We booked this B&B based on character not luxury. We didn't want a chain hotel, or someplace in the city center of Bristol. It was comfortable, private and the service was superb!

the landlady put me in a room that was not satisfactory at all in a block of rooms in the old barn.Having sat in the room for half an hour thinking what am I doing in here I went to see the lady and was promptly moved to a nice room in the main house.I was told there wopuld be extra charge for this and was charged a further 10 pounds in the moring despite the initial issues and the fact I only had a continental breakfast and a bacon sandwich to go.Not the best I dont feel
