“Great location”
Great location , pleasant staff, comfortable room. Maintenance needs attention though- kitchen tap fell off when turned on an power point sparked when iron unplugged
“Elegant Hotel, Close to the river and city location, Clean and Nice.”
This is an excellent place and a definitely recommended stay. The food is a bit on the expensive side though - I am not sure if it all through australia. There is a fine pickup drop facility from the airport via Skybus and Transfer and you get picked up right at the hotel. A few points to improve though, would be wireless connectivity (expensive), better maintenance of the bathrooms. Overall the week spent was to my great satisfaction and my first visit to Australia was pleasurable.
“convenient”
great place left bank has all the shopping food and entertaiment
“won't be going back”
i can't believe we paid over 1000 for 4 nights at this place it should be illegal to grossly overcharge just because there is an event on in melbourne. the bathroom was in need of some maintenance particularly the shower, wear thongs thats all i can say. i was bitten by something in the bed the first night and my arm is still red and sore 6 days later. the room was stuffy and the air con barely worked. the hotel staff were nice though and the actual facade was nice. if i had chosen to stay here and pay 100 a night then i wouldn't be complaining as thats about all its worth .
“Outstanding location for the price”
Reviews on other sites are mixed for this hotel so I was unsure about what sort of experience we were in for. However the best thing about this hotel is its central location on the Southbank and ease of access to the inner city and shopping of Melbourne. Its unbeatable for the price. The area is quiet, and behind a couple of larger buildings so there is not much of a view unless you are on the higher floors; but there is a fantastic food court in the Southbank shopping centre and a quick 2 min walk across the bridge sees you in central Melbourne. The stroll along the riverfront is also very pleasant. The rooms are comfy without being overdone, ours had a kitchenette with plates, cutlery and a microwave as well as usual coffee making facilities. Housekeeping wasnt outstanding but acceptable; beds made, new towels if required, room vacuumed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our stay was great and the access to the city cannot be beaten for the price you pay here.
“Not impressed”
location perfect. Hotel is tacky, not run well. Bathroom not particularly clean old towels and doesn't deserve 4 star rating. From hotels I have stayed in this would rate 2 star
“Great location”
This hotel is located on Southbank and is near to many restaurants and the Casino. It's a short walk over a bridge to Flinders Street Station and Federation Square. I wasn't too impressed with the room servicing though. The tea/coffee supplies weren't replenished and I had accidentally dropped tea leaves from a dodgy tea bag, which I didn't have time to clean up properly, but they were all still there after the room had been serviced. There were a lot of them too, so you couldn't miss them. The bathroom floor wasn't very clean either. Overall though, it is not an expensive hotel and it is in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
“was not impressed”
we chose to use 15% and on making our own bed were horrified to find that the mattress protector was so stained and also that the white towels weren;t white they were old and discoloured, also the shower floor was not clean you could see the dirt where you stand in the shower.
“Good location”
The hotel had a really good location - situated on the waterfront and convienient to the city which was just across the bridge. The staff were really friendly (I lost my room access card almost everyday and if they were fed up with me for always requesting a new one they never showed it!) I could have done with a window in my room, other wise I enjoyed my stay there.
“Staffs were all kind”
They were so kind when I was stolen everything. Hotel charge was very cheep but room was comfortable. Locaked nice place.
