“Good location and very helpful staff!”

Our room was lovely (the bathroom iwas pretty small...but functional!), the location is great...the tram stop just outside which is convinient but it is so centrally located that you can walk pretty much everywhere! The breakfast was not included with our room but we had breakfast there our last day and it was lovely (but expensive...as everywhere else in Melbourne!). The best thing at this hotel are the staff....really helpful and friendlym, you felt like coming home at the end of the day... I would happily stay there again!

Excellent cool courteous staff. Booking made months before from UK, upgraded us to larger room without asking. Nice breakies 15 dollar continental good variety of cereal, yogurt, fruit, meats and cheeses plus nice breads. Quality TV, reasonable charge for wifi, free paper, mini breakfast special plus evening happy hour wine. We walked from airport bus put down at central station. Trams outside to CBd or walk about 10 mins to flinders station and museums.

“Good hotel in a fantastic location”

This is a great hotel across from the Southern Cross train station which makes it ideal for travellers. I was upgraded to a triple room and if there had been 3 people then this would have made the hotel as cheap as a backpackers but with more facilities. I looked at this hotel because it was so central and I needed a night away from backpacker dorms and for just £20 more I got a private en-suite room with free tea and coffee and cable TV. the bar and cafe looked good with some great drinks deals. I have already recommended this hotel to 2 other sets of travellers! thanks PS They also have locations in Sydney and other cities as well. Also one in paris from what i can see on the website so may give that a try as well

A quiet hotel with good location for Southern Cross Station (where Skybus arrives and departs) and free brown tram.

“Melbourne Pensione”

The hotel is conveniently situated for travellers arriving at Melbourne's Southern Cross railway station - that is also the terminus for the shuttle bus from the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean. Staff at reception were extremely helpful. I would stay at this hotel if I visited Melbourne again.

“TINY room”

Selected a "petite double" thinking it would just be a standard double room but turns out it's smaller than any other hotel room i've ever seen. Uncomfortably small and certainly not suitable for 2 people. Not sure why on earth they ever designed it in such a way. The "bathroom" is separated by a plastic patio door which doesn't close and the whole room can't be more than 10m2. Location is great and the hotel itself looks nice. Just let down by the size of the rooms so no way i'd ever consider staying there unless i was on my own
