“Friendly staff, hotel a little dated, suitable for business travellers”

I stayed for a week at the St Kilda Parkview hotel. The staff were very friendly and the area the hotel is in is pleasant. It is on St Kilda road that is a business district; the hotel is very good for business customers. There are regular trams up in to the centre of Melbourne, but that still meant it was 30 mins to the centre, making the hotel location satisfactory, but not excellent. The hotel has an excellent Spa on the top floor with a view over Melbourne. The fitness facilities are also located in this area and are adequate. The rooms are large, the beds are extremely comfortable. I suggest you request a city view as the room I had faced a wall! The only thing I would say is that the hotel is a little dated and in need of a refurbishment. It has a very 1980s feel to it. In summary, a good hotel for business travellers, friendly staff and 15 mins free internet (or free wireless in the lobby) each day. However if you are someone who likes hotels to be fully up to scratch and in a central location, this is not the hotel for you. I certainly would not recommend it for families.
