“Very convenient Hotel”

“Great little find in the suburbs”

This is a little gem of a place tucked a few minutes walk from South Yarra Station in a suburb full of boutique eateries and shops. The one bedroom apartment we had had plenty of room for the two of us with great facilities. The room was serviced daily with clean towels and tea and coffee topped up. The staff on check in were incredibly helpful and set us up really well with guidance and recommendations. The area was quiet and peaceful a short walk from the Yarra itself and only 5 minutes into Flinders Street and 15 to St. Kildas. We stayed 4 nights and had a great stay in Melbourne. I would highly recommend this place.

“A little disapointed”

The hotel was in a great location for our needs on this trip, short walk to Chapel St and a short tram ride into the city. However we felt the attitute of the hotel staff and the general cleanliness of the hotel let it down. On checking in we felt that we were interupting the staff member on the front desk and it was a real effort for her to help us. At first the room looked very clean but when it came time to unpack and settle in it became clear the room was not as clean as it could or should be.

“comfrotable stay”

the hotel was quite a way from the airport and cost $60 in a taxi (each way) as the shuttle wasn't running we were told we could only get a taxi back then saw the shuttle bus on our return trip! hotel was clean and comfortable, and we didn't mind the walk into the city.

“Very nice”

We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment. Check-in took just several minutes. The only unpleasant surprise was that the door to the apartment was left open, and a s a result it was full of mosquitoes. The hotel can also improve on service - they constantly forget to put toilet paper to the bathroom and milk to the fridge. Other than that was satisfied. The hotel provides parking, which is especially convenient at South Yarra. Great location. Just minutes from Chapel street. A train station just around the corner, which ensures easy access to the City.

“Great location”

We had four nights in the hotel and were in a very nice room with a balcony on the top floor. We had a fantastic view and as we were on the street side we did not hear the trains. The location is fantastic and is very close to South Yarra Station. Toorak Road is a lovely shopping area. The only criticism I have was that our room was not very clean. It needed a good dusting and vacuuming the whole time we were there. There was a dead bug on the floor the day we arrived and it was still there when we left.

“Leaky Roof”

I booked a "twin" room, but on arrival discovered we had been given a queen bed - not really suitable for 2 middle-aged friends sharing. We were told that Expedia had not passed the request on to them. They said there were no other rooms available. After unpacking our suitcases, we discovered a large stain on the ceiling in the bedroom with water dripping onto a towel on the floor. Obviously the cleaning staff had not reported the problem. While we were given a bottle of wine for the inconvenience, we had to sleep in a less than healthy environment wih the constant annoying sound of dripping water. Hotel management notified us that they would have the leak inspected on day 2 of our stay. This was undertaken while we were out of our room at the Melbourne Cup. However, on our return, we discovered that someone had used the toilet in our room and had failed to "flush" the button, leaving us the task or disposing of someone else's bowel movement. We had tried to find alternate accommodation for our 4 day stay, but as Melbourne was celebrating the Spring Racing Carnival, we found this impossible as everywhere we tried was already booked. The swimming pool at the hotel is very "tired" and less than inviting. The photographs on their web-site are either very old or of another property altogether. We were very disappointed in this so-called "Executive" property.

“Satisfactory stay due to location and price”

The hotel is well located in terms of proximity to public transport, shopping, restaurants etc. Lovely suburb so no safety concerns with walking around at night. The hotel was clean and tidy, though looking a little tired and in need of refurbishment. Staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly, were able to answer all questions. My room was on ground floor, which is floor below the reception, and was actually quite noisy as the noise from people walking around upstairs filtered down constantly. The room was also quite dark, and cold, wouldn't recommend it if you need lots of light and like a good outlook.
