“great location”

was a great location and right on transportation route. i stayed at the acland property, which did not have everything it said in the listing like hot plate and kitchenette was very poor. the one thing that was very annoying was that internet service was down 3 of the 4 days i was there. and it cost me $25 for 5 hours. note to any americans travelling australians do not believe in free wi-fi so be prepared to pay. the shower was a bit grimy and looked and is it had not been cleaned in a while so bring a rag to wipe it down. another low brow thing i saw was the $70 charge for having the "housekeeping" wash your dishes if you leave them dirty when you leave. even one fork means 70 bucks... so just be aware of what you are in for...

“Disappointing”

We paid for a family studio apartment in st kilda with two single beds and a sofa. we got : an apartment in east kilda - the only 1 from 5 that is NOT in st kilda. 1 queen bed a sofa that was in poor condition and unsleepable poor service from the main reception

Area recommendations
I recommend to stay in a hotel in the city. Trains are quick and easy to use to travel to different areas. Shop around for a good deal.
Getting there
If you choose to ignore my warnings to stay here, atleast request to stay in St Kilda. If they cant meet your request dont stay there.
Shopping
Chapel street is fantastic plus the many arcades in the city. Save your money before going :) or be ready to pay your credit card when you arrive home.:)

“cheap hotel not the best but if you want cheap it delivers”

this was a very cheap deal and really you get what you pay for so not a very visually stimulating place but if you are after cheap it delivers

It's steps away from vibrant St. Kilda, beach cafes nightlife and shops. Steps away from public transport to the main city centre.
