“Apartments @ Docklands”

The apartment was in a really nice area with good restaurants near by. It was well equipped with towels, bedding, washing machine/drier and kitchen crockery etc. The trams into the centre were not far away. The apartment was ok, but maybe it needed to have an update as the sofas and carpet were worn in places. This not detract from our stay. The price was very good and we stayed an extra night as it was so nice.

“Staff need to be trained”

The receptionist kept us waiting for 10 minutes as she chatted on the phone. We arrived at 2pm to discover that the room wouldn't be ready for another hour. When we finally got into the room the bedding configuration wasn't as requested via our booking. We used 'expedia' which does allow you to specify single or double beds etc. but 'Apartments at Docklands' claim that they don't receive any of that information and the manager told me the onus was on me to phone 'Docklands' and tell them even though we have already specified when booking. They brought us up an extra trundle bed to sove the problem but unfortunately it was very saggy and had to be replaced the next day. When the manager replaced it he told us and I hope he was joking though there was not a hint of a smile that he wouldn't 'charge' us for the trouble. there was a noise problem the first night because they failed to tell us that if we leave the bathroom light on , the exhaust fan will remain on for an extra ten minutes after the light is turned off. I left one of the bathroom lights on for my youngest child which meant the noisy exhaust fan above my bed went all night. Because of the delay in the turning off of the fan I didn't realise the light and fan were attached. A simple problem to solve once explained but the point is that it wasn't explained on checking in. We did have a good second night but such a shame it was such a bad start to our holiday.
