Dirty pool, dirty floor in the rooms, no English channels on TV, rock hard beds. The front door was hard to unlock.
The kitchen was well equipped to cook very basic fare.
Yes it is low priced accommodation
We left after 3 days because there wasn't much to do for 2 young kids except play on the beach- no swimming because the water was really cold- or go crazy in the apartment. The pool water was cold and had a dirty slick on the top.
It was about 30 mins walk to the marina or train station, half of which is gravel which was a bit bumpy for the baby in the stroller. A stroller with tubed tyres would have been better rather than the plastic wheeles we had on ours.
We saw the beautiful sights of Lagos then left.
After a horrendously long day getting to the hotel I was immediately relaxed on entering the hotel. Decor a little modern, and internal lighting in corridors a little too low for my personal taste but overall a nice feel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was spotless, as were the rooms. The breakfast was amazing, all the food on offer was mind boggling, all cooked/presented perfectly, any empty serving spaces were filled very quickly. The catering staff were brilliant! They certainly work hard for their wages... and were tipped accordingly at the end of our stay. The rooms were very clean, well maintained and functional. We had a three bed standard room (our teenage daughter came with us) The third bed was VERY hard, she could not get to sleep on it, so it was my husband's bed for most of the week. It was reported but I don't think anything could be done. I found the bathroom floors very slippery, we could have done with a non-slip mat in there. I was very greatful that we could choose a smoking room, I was able to indulge on the private terrace area attached to the room. The room service was good. The a la carte restaurant, spledid. Staff there were exceptional. The evening buffet was great for myself and my husband but my daughter struggled to find anything to her taste, we only dined there for one night (it was quite an expensive chicken nuggets and chips for my daugher) Overall I really enjoyed my stay, and would reccomend to all.
Everything was perfect at this hotel. Good location, big spacious apartments with everything you need for self catering and lovely view of the Marina. 10 min walk to the beach and close to the old city centre.
TLC from london
Contemporary hotel situated in Lagos Marina, 500 metres from the beach and three kilometres from the nearest golf course …More
Just come back after staying at the Marina Club Appartments in Lagos,Portugal. It was a fab place and the appartment we had was facing the pool and overlooking the marina. Rate the staff and facilities very highly, only down point was there was no shop on site. But saying that the nearest large supermarket was only 10 min walk.
Would definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Marina Club, the staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were large and bright, well kept and clean. Location is perfect too. We couldn't fault it and i have already booked this hotel again for our next visit to Lagos.
We have just returned from a great week. Inn Seventies is a great place to stay. Right in the heart of Lagos. The rooms are large and clean. the roof top breakfast has lots of choice and such a beautiful setting to start your day. Anna is very helpful and always around if you need help.
It is 5 mins walk from the free car park into the town. 10 mins walk to the beach. 10 mins walk to train station where you can travel to Faro / Portimao. There are boat trips and lovely costal walks.
We hired a car but you could stay for a week and not need one.
There are so many restaurants, shops, cafes, it is a beautiful city.
Top tip ;- If you are hiring a car from the airport do your reserch as to where to park to access Lagos. You cannot drive in as its car free so you need to find the car park and do the short walk in. Not a problem once you get your bearings.
Only negative is dont expect a swimming pool on the roof it is just a paddling pool, but gives a lovely setting for breakfast and when you go up in the evening for a drink and people watch - great fun !!!
