“Going back.”
Very family friendly
“Really not to bad, with an amazing waterslide!”
I stay for business at many different hotels. I have to say that it really was pretty nice. I haven't stayed at any other hotels in the area so I can't speak to their quality... but I was comfortable.
“Hotel good. Loud hockey team bad.”
The room was a pet friendly room so I suspect the others are nicer. The service was good and the bed was comfy. The waterslide and pool and hottub were very fun. There weren't any bathrobes in our room though and I wasn't thrilled with the change room. The water temperature was quite erratic for showering. Excellent convenience with location and we didn't hear the traffic at all. It seems to be hockey team central and they were quite loud and kept us up a bit. Security tried to deal with it but weren't very successful. The jungle cafe food was good. We ordered off the menu.
“Kids will probably like it”
The indoor waterslide and pool mean the hotel is full of kids running and shouting - not the end of the world but not really a business atmosphere. The burger in the casino lounge (the only meal I ate there) was quite good. the rooms were average, reasonably big and clean with a big TV. Shallow tub, small bathroom, only powdered creamo for the coffee (why can't hotels put real creamers into the bar fridge?!) It's located at the very eastern edge of Medicine Hat - handy for going to the big Southridge mall across the street but less so for going to downtown (although hey, it's Medicine Hat, nothing is very far.)
“Okay but not great”
The rooms in this hotel were clean & fairly comfortable but noisy with an elevator beside our room that sounded somewhat like an injured squealing creature and an air conditioner/heater that made irratic noises that kept us awake. Some of the staff were very friendly but the front desk woman was unhelpful and a bit surly...I almost had to strongarm her for information. If you have kids they'd love the water slides but if you're kidless I'd stay away from this one.
“Nice place and Price”
Everything was good until shower time! There was half a half used shampoo and used bar of soap...uhhh. Talked to hotel services she said they have had other complaints about the cleaningstaff, appologized, and gave us coupons for the buffet.
“Good value”
We booked this hotel for a halfway point stop over on our way from Calgary to Regina. Very good value. Hotel was very busy with Families enjoying the waterslide and pool on a 32 degrees celcius (90 degrees F) day. It was also a little noisy in the middle of the night when a group of younger guests decided to have a party in the hallway outside our room at 1:45 AM, until we asked them to leave. We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel as we found better value and more choices nearby.
“Latenight rowdies”
we stayed at the Medicine Hat Lodge on Saturday night and were dissapointed that there was an abundance of latenight rowdies at the hotel. Not sure if it was the wedding attendees or people leaving the casino or lounge, but there were loud people running around the halls, yelling outside in the courtyard, and raising their voices in the hall at 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning. Tough to get a goog night's sleep. Had heard good things about this hotel and left a little dissapointed.
“Best Hotel in Medicine Hat”
Nice hotel. Indoor pool with waterslide and a small casino. Nicest hotel in the area.
“will be back again”
The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. Also very clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel is close to shopping & restaurants .
