“Will definitely stay here when in McAllen!”

We experienced a clean, quiet stay. Hotel staff were friendly, more than helpful and had wonderful senses of humor. We enjoyed breakfast, and evening beverages with snacks. The Pear Tree is our new home away from home!

“My home away from home”

My heart is in south Texas, so I have been traveling there a lot recently. Every time I'm in town I always stay at the Pear Tree Inn. It has become my home away from home and I love it there.

“Don't turn around in the Bathroom”

This was my first stay at this hotel and overall it is a nice facility. The only issues I would point out is how small the bathroom was and how thin the towels were. I've stayed at a lot of hotel and motels, not all nice, and these were the worst towels I've used in the last few years. The bathroom in my room had a door that opened into the bathroom and to close the door, you had to get into the bathtub. Tiny.

“Excelent location”

Excellent location, they have one hour free to international calls, breakfast ok and very good atention from the people of front desk.

“Good hotel”

Very nice location, is comfortable (obviously not like a 5 stars hotel), breakfast is good and the best thing is that you can get all day coffee and sodas.

“very impressed”

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We requested a handicapped room and bath and we got one upon our arrival. The young man running the front desk was very curtious and professional and always asked if our room was alright and if we needed anything. The hot breakfast was excellent! Restaurants were close by so you didn't have to drive too far. All in all, we'd stay there again.

Area recommendations
The Cathedral where Our Lady of San Juan is located, its a beautiful place to see and walk around the grounds. Not too familiar with the area, our first time there.

“Extremely nice”

Very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Every time we would come in they would ask if there was anything we needed. They also recommended several nice restaurants in the area for dinner at our request. Breakfast was wonderful - eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy. Snacks and wine were a welcome touch at the end of our busy day. Couldn't ask for a nicer stay - will definitely come back to the Pear Tree Inn. Already have recommended to several couples for their stay. They wouldn't be disappointed.

Birding in this area is fantastic. Start at Falcon Lake early in the morning and work your way back to McAllen. State Parks were wonderful.
